"Mazda Protege - 195/50R16 - I like how these tires performe on dry pavement but they are well below par for winter driving. Do NOT use these tires for winter driving in Montreal, even if they are new."

"2003 Mazda Protege5 - 195/50R16 - These were the original tires on my car and they were fantastic when they were new. However, they wore quickly and loved to hydroplane often. Snow? Forget about it. These tires are good for dry summers only. You'll want to put your winter tires on early and leave them on late."

"Lexas GS300 - 225/55-16 - I got these tires with my Lexus GS300 in early 2003 and have been very satisfied with them. I put 55,000 on them in three years, mostly highway driving, without any problems, but now it is time to replace them. I will buy these tires again. I can recommend them highly."

"1999 gs 400 - After 80 000 miles on the original Eagle GT+4's, I switched over to the Dunlops. After 25 000 miles, I have to find new tires. Very poor tread wear life. The ride of the car does not feel as secure and although I never hydroplaned, it seemed like I could at any second. Not for wet weather!! Would not buy again. "

"Camry XLE V6 - 215/60R16 - Original tire in the car. Good grip and very quiet when new. Very noisy at the end of life. Very short life - 40,000 Km. Driven in the summer only. Would not buy again."

"2002 protege 5 - P195/50/R16 - these tires are useless on anything other than dry pavement. the protege 5 is not a sports car and the idea of spending close to $1000 to replace these tires every 2 years or 50,000 km irks me. I have chosen to replace my tires will all-season tires of 195-55-R15 that have a rating of 115,000 km on smaller rims. I really don't think the car looks any worse for ditching the expensive and useless tires in Canadian climates for regular tires. Bank on it. "

"Mazda Protege 5 2003 - 195/50-16 - Very good in dry weather. Bad in rainy weather like here in Seattle. A couple of scary moments on the highway with hyrdoplaning. I got 38K with regular rotations. I've since switched to the Toyo Proxes 4. Much better in the rain. Price is much better too."

"1995 Accord V6 Manual - 195-60-15 - Running SP 5000 tires for 2 months now. Superb in dry conditions and hard cornering. Great in the rain, just had 3 weeks of it :( Only thing I would have changed would have been to get some for my 16" "

"2000 Ford ZX2 S/R - 205-55/ZR15 - Great tire, excellent dry traction. Best when tires are warm. Drove 80MPH in a Kansas thunderstorm no hint of traction loss/ hydroplaning. Better than expected snow/slush traction. No hint of wear yet. Rotated once. Would buy again. Driving style: very spirited."

"2003 Mazda Protege5 - 195/50R16 - OE tires on car purchased brand new. Down to 20% tread after 60,000 km -- reasonable, considering I like to test the handling of the car. Have had several roadtrips of 5000-6000 kms, probably 25% in mountainous terrain. Handled real well in switchbacks! :-) During last trip in September, felt some hydroplaning, but remember, there's now about 1/16" tread left. No real complaints -- actually somewhat surprised at winter performance. Would buy again, but decided to try Toyo Proxes 4. Hope the Toyos work as well as the Dunlops. Rated 4 all around, but I hardly ever give top marks to anything."
