Falken Azenis ST-115 Review

Mark"1994 Eagle Talon - I just replaced some really bad, generic tires with the ST-115's, and the difference is huge. MUCH quieter...And, they handle really well, especially on wet/standing water pavement. (It rained for a solid 3 days right after I bought them, and it felt like the road was dry) The noise level is really low, especially on blacktop highways at about 75 MPH. The only reason I don't give the tire a "very good" comfort rating, (and it's probably not fair) is that my car (Talon/Eclipse) has a really rudimentary suspension/sound insulation system, and never has given me a really smooth ride. Though these tires are really quiet, I still tend to get a kind-of harsh, thumpy ride when going over road seams, potholes, and railroad tracks at low speeds. Don't know about treadwear yet, I'm guessing I gave up some durability for a quieter tire. I gave up a tiny bit of tire footprint width too, but for me, the payoffs were well worth it"

Jerry"Audi S4 - For the price, it's a decent tire. Fairly quiet and reasonably sticky. Good compromise between all out performance and comfort. Got 20,000 miles out of them. Better than the OEM Pirelli P6 (tossed those out after 2,000 miles) but not as good as the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 I replaced them with. Keeping the tire pressure between 35 and 40 psi was helpful. Kevin Abbott"95 Talon TSi AWD - I bought these tires as a split between autocross and highway driving. They performed very well for both. I never had any hydroplaning issues with them and no dry traction issues either."

Anonymous"2002 BMW 530i Sport - Bought these tires to replace the OEM Continentals which were trashed at about 14K miles and sounded like mudders off a 4x4. These tires are much quieter, but developed noise a low speeds (under 30) over time -- then leveled off. Traction has been decent. I've had some trouble getting them to balance completely. For the price they've been good tires. I'll probably get about 17-20K out of them (my car is a habitual tire eater)."

Jay boi"Honda Civic - Using an asian spec 195/50/15. Great tires in the dry, but havent tried them in the wet yet. First 250kms were quite noisy, but after that gave the quietest ride ever. Traction is great, but sidewalls aren't the firmest. Comfortable tires - I would buy them again in a hurry."

They are HEAVY which probably helps with keeping the road noise down. The quietness of the tires does not transmit road feel back through the steering wheel. They may be grippy but the lack of feel does not inspire confidence as a driver. Great tire for the audiophile but not performance."

David Ellis"2000 Toyota Camry - 205/55/16 - I purchased this tire following the reviews on this forum and really expected a very quiet tire. Initially I though the tire was indeed very quiet, but realized the tire noise on my Camry simply dropped several octaves and became louder. My wife and I universally agreed on this after swapping the snow tires in spring and fall. The Falken 115 tires emit a lower pitched drone that is "different", but VERY present. In all other regards these tires are exceptionally good, but with regard to noise - nope. I have also used Yokohama AVS Mid, Continental Sport Contact, Goodyear Eagle GT+4... tires over the years. The Continental Tires were very quiet, but the tread separated from the body of the tire under very normal driving conditions. Anyhow, I mention these things only because I am NOT extremely familiar with hard body tires and tread block drone. Maybe this is very normal??"

Doug"M-B E430 Sport sedan - 235/45ZR 17 - Extremely comfortable and QUIET with very good handling charastics. Installed tires @62,800 miles. They need to be replaced soon. Current milage is 77825. Only 15,025 miles with maybe 2000 tread miles remaining. Wore evenly. Rotated every 5000 miles and tire presure checked monthly. Perhaps Falken's 360 treadwear number is a bit optimistic? "
