Falken Ziex ZE-512 Review

james"2001 Toyota Avalon - 225/65R15 - great traction in wet and dry but HORRIBLE TREADWEAR! 10,000 miles and 6 months later and tires are bald. No burn-outs, gentle acceleration and they're still bald. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! replacing tires every 6 months is nuts"

Marc"2004 Elantra GT - 205/50/16 - Replaced my stock Michelin's Energy MX4+... These tires are way better. They stick like crazy! Even in wet weather, I'm very impressed! I cannot find a way to make these squeel in a curve compared to my stock tires which screamed in every curve I took... I highly recommend this tire! These are my summer tires so I won't rate the "SNOW" preformance. I'm not rating the treadwear as I'm quite hard on them and will probably use up quick. Since I put these on, I like driving again!"

Anonymous"Honda S2000 - 125/50R16 - Good tire and well priced but the rear ones on my S2000 didn't even last 5000 kms with only a few 1/4 track runs, a little spirited driving and regular commuting."

Bobbi"Sentra SE - 195/60 15 - As a budget minded, very aggressive driver these tires looked to be the best of what was available. I was thoroughly disgusted with the Bridgestone 92's the car came equipped with...They were just plain dangerous when wet. I've had them about 6 months now. By far, these tires offer the best wet weather traction I have ever experienced- even when driving badly. On dry pavement for traction they are just excellent. The trade-off: you must pump them up hard to try and alleviate some of the under roll experienced when cornering hard. (The sidewalls are soft.) This does result in a rougher ride and minimally more noise. I will opt for safety and confidence over minimal noise and ride considerations any day. Given the price point, I would buy 512's again- no question."

Danielle"01 Prelude - I purchased the 512's for my 01 prelude bacuase the potenza's sucked. I immediatly noticed a difference in the way it handled and drove. I rip my car around all the time and I got about 30,000 or more miles out of them. I am about ready to purchase them again. These tires are awesome!"

Anonymous"I have rated this tire as "satisfactory" because of the four I purchased two months ago, three have developed dimples in the side walls which the retailer tells me are due to a seperation in the seam where the steel belts meet. Three out of four points to a quality control issue at Falken. I would not buy these tires again."

Bob"Infiniti G35 - 225-55-17 - Three out of four tires developed depressions in side-walls after 1000Km. Retailer says its due to seperation at seams where steel belts meet. Apparently, for Falken tires, this is normal. Would not buy again. "

cb"2002 Toyota Celica GTS 2001 Ford Focus ZX3 - 205 50 16 - I feel I can give a decent review as I have purchased two sets of the same size tire for two different vehicles... The tire was a great improvement to the stock Firestones on the Ford Focus... improved feel and handling in both wet and dry conditions, with decent snow performance. On the Celica GTS it was the complete opposite compared to the stock Yokohamas... it made the car handle like it was driving through pudding... way too much sidewall flex for any type of hard cornering... they seem to stick, but with the soft tread and sidewall flex, they are very unresponsive and you have to 'throw' the car into a corner and sort of compensate for the give. Treadware has been somewhat of a letdown as well... 30000 miles on the Focus with unspirited commuting they are about done, and after 8000 miles on the Celica, they are showing great signs of wear on the edges. Not a bad tire, but not great depending on use. "
