Forget about snow with this tire unless you want to skid on snow and ice. Really noisy at 60+ mph (almost like a winter tire). If you put this tire in performance driving condition, don't expect to do big mileage with them, but they stick in curb like nothing I've seen so far. Despite the negative sides I describe, I recommend these tires because they perform like sport tires. I will buy again." I got less than 30,000 miles on a set of these on this car, and only 25,000 miles on another car. I made the mistake of buying a set for a second car based on the performance when brand new. Initially, the tire had a very intense grip. They were much louder on the road than the OEM Michelin Pilots. The higher road noise took some an adjustment period. The tire design is its strongest feature with a very unique unidirectional tread and the extended lip for rim protection against curb brush-ups was a plus. Overall, I was disappointed with the low mileage life the tires have with an aggressive driving style. At approximately 27k miles, the tires began hydroplaning on minimal amounts of standing water on the roadway. They now feel very dangerous when driving in wet conditions. I am now in the market for tires again and will not be purchasing the Falken Ziex 512s."
