"I put these on my 1997 Civic Si for the winter, and they had awesome handling around turns. A very quiet tire and smooth ride (stiffer sidewalls make handling better and able to drive at higher speeds withough affecting performance). This is why these tires have an H rating and not a W or Q rating for most Winter tires. Good acceleration for snow. Been really happy with them. They sure beat the heck out of my girl friends Pirelli Winter 190 Snowsport tires... She also has a 1997 Civic Lx. Overall a really good performance tire for a 14 inch rim. If you have a 15 inch rim or above, I'd reccoment the GW3's which are the GW2's replacement. I'd get the GW3's but they don't make them for a 14 inch rim or below. As for tred ware... can't say much, since they are brand new and the winter is almost over. I put 5k on them this winter and they are in perfect condition. Hope this helps you."

"Great tires for snow! Not so much on ice. Was almost not used up after one winter. Does pick up a lot of small rocks and stuff. They allowed me to cut through snow piles without having to dig through them first."

"Ford Escape 4 X 4 - 225 70 15 - Winter in Nova Scotia , Canada means blizzards one week ,heavy rain the next, then freezing rain after that. The Ultra Grips are EXCELLENT in all these conditions.Do not buy anything else!"

"1998 Chev PU 2WD - P235/75/R15XL - I put about 95,000 Km on these, mostly driving the North Shore of Lake Superior in the winter, and for 1-1/2 winters they were awsome! For a 2WD (with posi) the truck performed in deep snow as well as some 4X4's...my only complaint was initialy the ice/packed snow traction was great, but after you're 1/2 way down on the tread, the fine sipes are used up and performance goes way down. My next set were Michelin LTX M/S, which in deep snow (offroad)were as good or better, but can't fully rate them since I traded the truck off after having them only 1 month."

"Ford Escape 4X4 - 225 - 70-15 - I have had Ultra Grips for the last three winters . Here in Nova Scotia , Canada, we get heavy, wet snow ,and a few days later,driving rain. Ultra Grips are superb in both. Worth every dollar I paid for them . "

"Ford Crown Victoria - P225/60/16 - Use on a Wisconsin Police car from late Nov to early April every year. I put these on to replace the horrible RS-A all season tires and the traction is much better in the snow. Despite proper pressure and rotation they are always cupped by 10k, and off the car by 20-25k. Loud when worn, and they wear fast, but still better than the RS-A."
