Michelin Tires Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus
Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus Review

Bob"1997 Toyota Camry XLE V6 - These tires were replacements and cost way too much for what we got. After only 25K miles of slow city driving they were showing heavy wear. They now have 33K miles in 2 and a half years and are well past the tread wear marks. Two of them are close enough to consider "Bald" in places! I called Michelin only to discover they had no mileage warranty and would not provide any assistance toward a new set of tires. I will be shopping for another brand this week!"

New York"2002 Hyundai Sonata - I really liked these tires and they were a good match for the Sonata which they came equipped with. The Michelins were quiet, terrific in dry/wet conditions and to my surprise good in snow as I had them on all year and did some driving in the Catskills during winter. I never had any problems with out of round tires, balancing, etc. All said however, I was expecting a little more than only 35k on the treadwear. "

Dan In Toronto"2000 Acura TL-3.2 - Tires are way too loud for my liking....road noise on smooth pavement is annoying at any speed. Over ruts, even worse.... Traction on wet is poor, but mileage is fantastic. Car has 115,000-kms, 70,000-miles. rear tires still original with 5000 miles left on them, front tires just replaced first time at 60,000 miles. "

Dave- Portland OR"2002 VW Eurovan - Only got 28K out of these OEM tires. They are very loud. I have had 3 flat tires from gravel punctures. Don't even think about using these in snow. Overall: VERY BAD TIRE!!!"

PA"BMW 328i - I now have 65,000 miles on these origional equipment tires on a BMW 328i. I'm down to 4/32" and the traction in the dry is getting better and better as they approach slicks. Good but expensive tires for all purpose driving, smooth and quient but can be driven hard. Good in the snow, be a little careful in the wet. You must keep these inflated at 34-36 lbs to get the best performance out of these tires. Few people realize how critical inflation pressure is for tire performance."

Mark"1999 Honda Accord EX - Original tires on car. Good tire. Lasted 50k miles. Signs of dry rot. Not too good on wet road conditions."

Dan"03 Passat Wagon GLX V6 - These tires were OE on my Passat. After 26K miles of mostly conservative driving the outer tread on both front tires was almost bald. The back tires were showing serious wear as well. Even with somewhat regular rotation these tires are lacking tread life. I had my alignment checked because I thought that was the cause. My local dealer told me the alighment was perfect. Two days after the car was purchased I got a flat from a small rock. These tires were terrible in snow over one inch. Fresh dry snow was all right thanks to traction control, however deeper and wetter snow was nearly impassable. My traction control light flashed constantly just driving down the street at 20 MPH. I'm shopping for another brand."

galatir"Mazda 626 LX V6 - Performance was good up to 40K over 4 years in NY. Now at 55K after 5 1/2 years and have seen performance drop off in wet/snow. I have the same slip on uphill starts as some of the other reviewers, a curiuos problem. Now a bubble has emerged on the sidewall and I will replace both front tires as they are starting to dry out. Treadware is still good, but I will watch for more bubbles and replace the rear tires next year (If they last that long!) The bubble concerns me so I will go with another brand. I have had good performance on Bridgestones on Honda Accord and Acura TL in the past. I will return to them."

Bob in cleveland"Elantra - Michelin's proliferation of naming is very confusing. Energy MXV4, Energy MXV4 plus, Energy MXV4 S8, MXV4, MX4 ... I suspect that some of the reviews in this category are for are for a different tire. I had OE and last 36K mi disappointing. Generally pleased with all season performance in N Ohio."

James"99 Passat - OEM on car. Not sure I believe all the poor reviews. I have 85K on them on they are just looking to be replaced. Fine life IMHO. The ride great in wet or dry. Only complaint is in the wet snow in Vancouver, BC they are hopeless but snows are a waste for the three days of snow we get each year."

Tom"2004 Camry XLE - Smooth quiet highway ride, just average noise level on coarse pavement. Handling is barely adequate, drums on any disturbance, rear end hops when encountering surface irregularities especially when cornering at even low to moderate speeds, overall not one of Michelins best in my opinion and have owned many of them over the course of past 35 years, on Volvos, VWs, Toyotas. This is regarding the 16" tire."

Jim"2001 Lexus ES300 - These Michelins came on my Lexus and were worn almost bald by 32,000 miles. They were mediocre to poor in most respects and grossly overpriced. I replaced them with four Falken Ziex ZE 512s, which are noticably better in all respects and which cost less mounted and balanced than only two Michelins. The big surprise was that my gas mileage went up two miles per gallon with the Falkens. I'll never buy another one of these Michelins. "

sherri"mazda6 - These tires have worn completely out in 13000 miles on my 2003 mazda 6. These tires began hydoplaning on lightly wet pavement at 5000 miles. I am going back to mazda dealer in AM for some type of adjustment. This shouldn't happen!! "

Jay"1999 VW PASSAT - As of this writing 09/04, I have 26000 miles on the above car. Very low mileage. This tire was original equipment. Tread wear is terrible for the low mileage, and the tires are 2/32" above indicator bar. Some dry rot and small cracks."

AK"2001 Acura 3.2 TL - OEM tires...205/60/R16 91V 100,000km(60k miles) Had a bubble on 1 tire after 10,000km. Dealer was not helpful...and never changed them. Shopping around...Replacement Cost is C$186(per tire) .Local tire dealer is recommending Falken Ziex tires. What to do? hmmm "
