"I bought these to replace the stock Dunlops that my Mazda Protege 5 came with. So, of course a big differnce right off the bat. Not noticiable noise increase but huge increase in traction and confidence. They are 1 of only 3 available in the stock size 195/50/16 that Mazda chose to put on the car. Plus they come with a 5 year road hazard protection. Over all I am very happy with them and would reccomend them without hesitation. "

"I had Nokia Hakkapeliitta 1 225/60 R16 on my Rav 4 for five seasons and then replaced them with Toyo Garit HT 225/60 R16. After 1 season I can say that the Toyo have a higher speed rating and are quieter. However, they have extreme understeer in more than 4 inches of snow. The Hak is better at lateral acceleration and in deep snow. After a little skid last weekend, I recommend the Hak."

"Recently,(late Jan, 2004)I was "nailed" in that snowstorm that dropped 6' on the eastern part of Lake Ont in Upstate NY. The only thing that kept me on the road was the ability to see the road markers off to the side between wiper-blade swipes turned on 'high'. Crawling (to stop was suicide) at idle pace, these Garit HT's saved my life. They dug in as I was pushing snow with my bumper! I had a cars behind me with 4-ways flashing, following my lead. I guess these fantastic tires helped them out too. Can't say enough about them. I bought them to deliver under extreme conditions and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT!"

"2k2 Maxima SE - These tires are sweeeetahhhh! I live in Denver and made trips up to the mountains to ski and they never ONCE broke loose on me and I drive 60+ in the snow. Would highly recommend for winter driving conditions. Noisy on the pavement when conditions are dry. Sidewall a little weak but still handles 70-80+ mph turns with ease. Put 10K miles on them this winter and they are still real beefy, not much tread wear at all, just make sure to keep your PSI consistent. Go get some."

"Mazda Protege ES Automatic - Low profile 195/55-15 works extremely well for stopping, starting, and especially cornering, in both snow and rain, with great control and easily handled 3-4" of snow. Good turn-in, dry, wet, or snow. Driven softly, 9000km used 1-2/32 of tread depth (back/front). As temperature increased (7-10+ deg. C)dry cornering and braking grip deteriorated significantly, with lots of easily controllable sliding, but I quickly stopped doing that to preserve the tread. Note that this car has no real power, especially in 1st gear, so hookup off the line was never a problem, and treadlife looks really good."
