 Nexen Roadian AT Pro RA8

Was very skeptical about these when buying them. Very cheap, not a well known name, but I am overly satisfied. I had duratrac's before these and these out perform those in snow. Can handle most snow conditions in 2wheel, only lock in 4 when snow is deep enough to drag on the bumper. In packed snow roads you can corner confidently, only time have issues is with ice(only way around that is dedicated studded snow tires). Wish they had more sizes though. I want this tire in a 285/70-17 when It comes time to replace these.

 Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor

I drive back and forth from Vancouver, BC to Alberta for work twice a month and see every type of weather/road condition. Snow, ice, rain, sleet, slush, mud on the lease roads, sand, gravel etc etc. The Silent Armors do very well in most everything but deep mud and on ice. 4x4 and these tires in my 6000lb Tahoe makes deep snow a joke. Quiet and comfortable on the highway, handling isn't great but the nature of the vehicle has a lot to do with that. Bought the vehicle with about 80% tread and after 15,000km of driving there's no noticeable wear. Duratracs much better off road but wear quickly, BFG A/T's are worse in all respects. I'd buy another set.
