These are the absolute best AT off road tires you can buy short of getting an all out mud/crawler tire. Be warned these are not for the mall parking lot posers that complain they're noisy or don't handle well in the rain at 140 KPH who's off roading is driving across the front lawn with a bag of peat moss! These are real truck tires not car tires with a bumpy tread pattern! They clear that sticky clay like mud out of the tread at very low speeds, grip well on lose broken shale without any cuts. They soak up the bumps on broken pavement and give a surprisingly quite smooth ride. however because of the lack of a continuous centre thread rib they do have the tendency to follow the crest of the road and any grooves in the pavement. There's not a rating for off road here but they're a 10.
Original equipment on my truck was a BF Goodrich All Terrain A/T which lasted 60,000 miles. In 2008 I purchased a set of Michelin LTX from the Toyota dealership and have had them ever since. Currently the truck has 142,000 miles and my tires have another year left on them. I highly recommend Michelin!
Bought (Mar 2016) to replace previous set of KO's that were 7yrs old. Do not ride well initially in cold weather. Even at just -10 degrees Celsius, these tires had a 'flat spot' that made truck feel like it flopped along down the street for first 1/2-1km. Not like that for older KO's which did not do that even down to -30 degrees Celsius.
Louder and rougher feeling than the old KO's they replaced.
Yet they did fare nicely in light wet snow.
Not as happy as I expected to be.
