Follow-up review: During the second year of use (spring/summer/fall) wet weather performance dropped a lot (except for wet braking), they became very noisy, and the ride became stiff, producing a series of unpleasant suspension noises which were not fixed by the replacement of both front ball joints - twice. By the fall, with 5/32 of tread left, the car really had a problem starting in the rain, and I was always ready for a slide through corners - I didn't let other people drive the car in the rain, and put my snow tires on early. By comparison, with my 215/55-16 General Altimax Arctic snow tires, the car in every weather condition (cold/wet/snow (obviously)/warm/dry) stops, starts, and handles better than with the ze-950s, and the ride is quieter and more comfortable. The ze-950s are not going back on my car.
Excellent wet grip. It's a great safe, sticky, predictable tire that I would recommend to almost anyone........... except those looking for a quick responsive tire. Slow, lethargic steering response is it's only drawback.
