 Dunlop Direzza DZ102

Dry weather grip is strong and responsive but wet roads and it's granny driving. Go fast in a straight line but you better slow right down in wet corners or else you're going for a skid/drift. Must have fishtailed on two separate occasions on on-ramps because these things stink in wet conditions. Treadwear was also garbage because they wore out faster than the OEM tires I had (used a pair of DZ102's as a replacement for the OEM tires).

 Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06

I have used these tires for less than 10,000 KM and no snow (yet) but so far, they've been working as advertised. Quiet, comfortable ride in dry weather; stable, responsive steering in wet conditions. I used to have some Dunlops and they were garbage on treadwear, wet weather, noise, and comfort. These ExtremeContact DWS 06's are light-years ahead of those Dunlops.

My second order for the exact same tire. I've had 5 other sets on this car and while these don't wear well with my driving, they are better than any other brand I have tried. Snow performance is unknown, but I was forced to report something.

I didn't even make it to an oil change before i needed to replace my 2 front tires! No joke! They barely made it 4,000 miles! I deliver papers 1,000 miles a week but EVERY other tire I have had on my car gets 12k-15k miles before they need replacement. And this tread pattern seems to pull one way or another when braking hard. I've had generic tires with more control. Even though the outer grip started peeling up and off the edge of the tire, it still had good traction right up until the very end though, unlike most (after 4/32" grip usually fades drastically).

I am not a fan of these tires. They are very hard and noisy. My real complaint is in the rain. I live in the Pacific Northwest of the United States where it rains a ton. To put it simply they suck in the rain. On a normal day of driving in the rain back and forth from school they break loose all the time under medium acceleration. If your a grandma driver these tires are probably fine in the rain but for most people steer away from these. I have also seen premature wear on the insides of the tires even with regular maintenance.

Great snow traction with great control. You WILL get stuck on ice though. After a freezing rain in Vermont, I got stuck on a very icy parking lot, virtually flat. and managed to get out. But then uphill in the snow/ice, the car turned 90 degrees (at no speed) and I got stuck. :( Some noise on highway but bearable.

 Falken Azenis FK-453

I bought these tires because I heard so much good about their predecessors the FK-452 and my local Falken dealer told me they were better, so I bought them. I must say, I LOOOOVE them. They handle the road like champions, look sporty, feel really smooth on the road and are not noisy at all. Yesterday I had a big road hazard and needed to replace one tire quickly (Lump). That's normal, any tire would have suffer that much with such a hole. Anyways, the fact that I needed a new FK-453 to replace made me want to see the difference between new and old because owners on this forum said they were wearing fast. The old ones only have 10k of use and I see a difference of 1/8in compared to their new companion... I mean, that's a lot, but considering the price and the satisfaction on the road, would I purchase them again? Yes, probably. There just a joy to play with !

I put just under 10 000 km on these last winter (a particularly long and volatile winter, I may add) here in Calgary, and they were fantastic. Highly recommend

 Hankook Ventus V2 concept2 (H457)

I love these tires. Previous tires were Toyo Luxury Touring and Blizzak tires for the winter. I just replaced the front tires and I see a HUGE difference. On my Mazda 3, it's nearly impossible to lose traction on a straight line with the foot to the floor, EVEN WHEN RAINING. For cornering, the maximum speed before sliding is greatly improved. Same for braking: ABS basically never kicks in. Haven't tried on snow yet but it is probably "OK" for this category of tires haha. Bonus: I really like how the tire LOOKS, there is like a solid band on the middle that looks really cool.

Just got these in Feb, so have these now for about 5k Kms, excellent in the rain, don't know how good they are in the snow but if the rain performance is an indicator I expect these to be similar. Not noisy, just got them so no idea on tread life, overall very satisfied with these tires, purchased at Coq store where I received quick professional service.
