These are summer tires and, as I live in Quebec, I wouldn't have the chance to try them in the snow. (i gave you a 5 for this, i presume ;) )
Surprisingly, I am very satisfied with the quality of the tire and its reactivity on the road. I had to react quickly last week and I think the rubber gave me help to react more quickly.
I had worst tire, but I had better. The Yokohama that came with my care were a lots more silent and smoother on the ride. I feel like this tire want to follow every crack in the asphalt, which mean it really stick to the ground, but I would say a bit too much.
As for the sound, they are nearly as silent as my Nokian Hakka 5 with nails... Seriously, they aren't very noisy, but I've seen way more silent.
Still better then those chinese tire I had before that were just pure scrap... Forgot the name though.
Amazing value suitable for snowy and icy Alberta roads. I purchased these because I needed winter tires but on a tight budget. I had studs installed by the tire shop that mounted them, so they are noisy for me but probably aren't too shabby without the studs.
My car transformed from a pirouetting death machine into a freaking tank. I haven't been stuck once since I had them installed. I was worried about buying some cheap brand I've never heard of, but so far these tires are great. If you are hesitating, don't. If you're worried they won't be good enough, just get them studded and you can't go wrong.
This is a great option if you need low-profile winter tires but can't handle the price tag of more well-known brands. Just don't wait until after a storm to order, because shipping is slow.
After Running Hankook Ventus V2, Yoko Avid S34, Nankang NS2, these Achilles are By far te best tire i've ever had. i've try to make them slip in the rain with no effect at all. Large puddle = nothing. They're rock solid on dry pavement, same on wet (not that i didn't try to find their limit)
On my FWD car, they're working like a charm, wi;ll definately buy again
