After my 85,000 mile check-up on my 2009 Toyota Venza I realized how pleased I have been with these original tires. The tread still looks fine but I intend to purchase same make / model in August when Toyota has their buy 3, get 1 free sale. Living in Alabama I only drove though snow 2 times each 30 minute commutes to work and I have had zero complaints. I highly recommend these tires.
I purchased these to put on my wife's Toyota Venza (AWD). I drive a ton on bad winter roads - my daughter ski races, so we spend an average of 3 days a week driving snowy, icy roads in the Rocky Mountains going to various ski resorts. I have owned 4x4's (usually driven with all-seasons) my entire life, and was BLOWN AWAY by the sure-footed performance of these tires on the Venza in winter conditions. I ended up driving my wife's car all winter for skiing, and just ordered a set for my Toyota Tundra so she can have her car back on weekends. I can only hope they perform as well on my truck.
They are certainly more of a spongy ride than the summer tires, but that is probably a big reason they are so good in the winter. Noise difference is negligible. I cannot really comment on treadlife, as we only used them one winter, but if it is traction you're after, ignore all those people rating these tires poorly - they are GREAT - you won't regret your purchase.
