I just purchased my second tire replacement of Pirelli Scorpion
STR 24550R20 tires for my 2010 Ford Edge which has 102,000 miles on it. These tires perform extremely well in all weather conditions and the life of these tires is more than acceptable.
The life of a tire is largely related to the structure of the thread and
the softness of the tire rubber. I easily got more than 55,000 miles
on my first set of Pirelli tires.
Worst tire I've ever owned. So regret being talked into these. My Hankook Ventus were a million times better, they were back ordered when I needed tires so I went with these. Loud, crappy MPG and not nearly as smooth. Thinking about springing for the Hankooks anyways.... These make me dislike my Edge.
I've been reading these reviews and I'm surprised that there aren't more positive reports. My latitudes came on my new Ford edge and they have been great. At 55,000 miles they're beginning so show their age and they're getting noisy. Yeah, they're pricey but no way am I going to buy a set of substandard tires just to save a few bucks. If you can drive over 100,000 miles on two sets of tires I think that's sayin somethin.
