 Continental WinterContact SI

These are the best winter tires I think I've ever had on any of my vehicles. I normally don't make such bold and confident statements for an online review, but I cannot think of a better way to put it. I've gone thru a set of Michelin XIce2 and Bridgestone Blizzaks WS60 and WS70 on various FWD and AWD vehicles I've owned (or had extended everyday access too). They were all good tires and I would have rated them highly. But the Continental WinterContact SI raised the bar a notch. I find the WinterContact SI to be a very sturdy tire. It doesn't feel overly soft and mushy (like the Blizzaks) and are incredibly quiet, even on dry pavement (unlike the Blizzaks and XIce2). I only put 2500KM on the SI's last winter and they don't even look like they've been driven, so treadwear (so far) has been very good. I only gave it a 4 in that category because it's difficult to judge on only 2500km. Overall, I just can't get over what a good choice these SI's were. They were soooo quiet to drive in, it's unbelievable. Yes, the price was a touch over what I wanted to pay, but they have impressed me so much that I can overlook that.
