Had the original style BFG All-Terrains years ago and liked them. This new set has wore very quickly. 4/32" to 5/32" left after 50,000kms on all 4 tires. Good traction in snow, ice and ok in mud/fields. Would not buy again due to quick wear.
I currently have approx. 5,900 miles on my set of 285/75/R17. They replaced a set of BFG Longtrail 265/70/17.
-First the good:
-They wear well
-They are stable towing at max capacities and inflation pressures
-The work well on gravel, and of course mud
-They look great on my truck
-They are louder than similar Good Year MT Pro tires
-The are very difficult to balance
-They reduced my actual measure fuel economy by 4-5mpg on average
-They have poor wet performance
-Their snow performance in terrible
