Been using these tires for the last summer (3000km). One thing that really need to be said is that these tires are really noisy when rolling on old asphalt. They are as noisy as my Nokia Hakka 7 winter tire on dry road. But on new asphalt, they are as silent as it can be. You don't hear them at all. But since i leave in Québec and roads are what they are over here... let say that it is more old asphalt.... so a lot of noise. Very disappointed o his product or the price. I Had Achiles Dessert Hawk on my old Escape 2010 and they we're as good for the price, confort noise related.
Would not buy these again....
After quite a bit of research I purchased these tires for my wife's Subaru as she has a 65 km round trip commute each day. Within the first 2 weeks I got a chance to test these tires out as we got a snow storm of about 20 cm. Needless to say, putting these tires on her car just isn't fair to everyone else. By far the best tires we've ever had. Plow through the snow with ease. As long as you remember that they're snow tires not tanks tracks you will be utterly impressed. I have no problem dealing with a slightly noisy tire in exchange for an amazing winter drive.
Excellent Winter Tire!!. I've had these on my 2012 STI for 3 winters and 2 Winters on my 2010 Legacy GT - 5 YEARS with no issues. These tires turned my vehicle(s) into winter tanks - unstoppable!
Why change your Winter driving habits? Just purchase a set of these and rest assured that nothing will get in your way.
Great set of tires, I bought these tires for my brother's Mitsubishi Evo 10 and they were superb he said. I tried the tires out for myself on my STI as they are the same size and they were very good i take corners hard in the winter for fun, i was confident but not as confident as i was with my Nokian Hakkapelitta R2's. Hands down best winter tires are the Hakka R2's. The price is more or less $40 different in Calgary for these tires. Both are great tires can't go wrong with the #1 tires and the runner up.
2012 WRX/Stage 3. Decent cheap tire. Grip seems fair when pushed, comfort is fine. Not sure about noise, my turboback exhaust, and blowoff is what I hear under power. No issues with noise when cruising freeways. Sidewall flex is fine as long as tire pressure is correct. Steering feedback is very good IMO, better than OEM Dunlops. I had a set of these on my 04 WRX and got 30,000 out of them, before they got whompy. I really don't think you can buy a better tire for the money. If I were to target anything its extreme cornering in wet, which I try not to do, otherwise siping is pretty good. This is a softer compound tire which ill wear a bit quicker and can only be rotated front to rear. Being symmetrical AWD, frequent rotation is a must!
