Commuting 120 km per day, I was looking for a good winter tire for my RAV4 but did not want to break the bank. I am not an aggressive driver but I do want good traction in snow. I live in Quebec city and my school is far away. I must say, wow, after 3 seasons these tires held up great and still look good. Start, stop is good and never have I lost control, (the all wheel drive helps) I am selling them and getting a new set of the same. Nice job on a great tire Zeta has won me over.
The worst winter tires I've owned thus far!!! I've actually sent an email to Yokohama suggesting these are dangerous to use in winter. I am from Montreal and we have a very long and aggressive winter. Weather out here comes in every shape possible, wet, ice, slush, high banks of snow, black ice, etc...
These tires have no grip whatsoever, I was sliding with them even before it snowed (there was minor ice on the ground and barely of it). These tires are a joke.
So beware and look elsewhere!
I am an experienced driver, been driving since I'm 16 here in Montreal, and I've seem my share of winters. The best tires I've owned were studded Blizzaks but studs are illegal these days so my 2nd choice would probably be something like the Michelin X series, had them on my Mini Cooper 2 years back and they were amazing.
But Yokohama has a loooooooooooong way to go when it comes to winter tires.
