I purchased these tires because of the ratings. The tires are four years old with 30,000 miles on them. The middle of the tires are balding and the tread is cracking all along the side wall on all four tires. After about 20,000 miles the truck steering started wandering all over the road. I am very disappointed with these tires. I will not ever buy another BF Goodrich tire again. In contrast to the hideous quality of the tires they have not failed or underperformed. Not enough to ever make up for the shortcomings of poor quality.
I had BFG's K2 before. I went with these now, they are awesome tires but treadwear isn't great. I've had one hole in one tire from sharp rocks but the tire didn't lose any air. I drove on tire for weeks till I went in for tire rotation and inspection. I'm lucky it was replaced by warranty. No problems with sidewalls. I drive off road, hunting and lots of wood cutting. I have 10ply but heavy and a little loud on highway
These were the the OEM tires on my Tacoma TRD. I just had them changed out at 40K. I never had a complaint about traction, but the handling and ride was always left a little to be desired and the tire noise at highway speeds was terrible. Changed to Michelin LTX A/T2 and I could not be happier.
Don't drive in snow.
I've owned a Toyota 4x4 since before they had a name like Tacoma (25+ years).
I've had mud tires like the old school non-radial RVTs, those were real directional mud tires.
However, these tires are the all around best tires I ever owned on any of my Toyota 4x4s.
For the money I doubt you will find a better tire for a 2012 Tacoma, period.
