Bought these at OK Tire about 2 weeks ago. Put on 4 Proxes 4+ ASR. The car is the AWD variant of the Acura TL. The stock OEM Michelin Pilots work fine for the FWD cars, but the AWD car is a different beast altogether and requires a more performance oriented tire [IMO].
The TOYO Proxes 4+ seem to be a decent enough tire. That is except for one thing - there is a very noticeable 'drone' or 'hum' particularly at highway cruising speeds [110-140 KPH]. The noise is there at lower speeds but just not as noticeable. It's somewhat like the noise you'll get with a snow tire (not as extreme) or with a truck tire.
OK Tire is working to see if there is a tire issue that needs to be addressed (out of round, re-balance, belt slightly off, etc.). Hopefully we can resolve this issue quickly. It is known that the issue isn't a wheel bearing, or an alignment issue. The rims are true (no similar issues when the Pilots were on these same rims). The tire itself seems like it 'could' be a good tire. Overall, the tire drives well, handles expansion joints for better than the Pilots, and doesn't tramline like the Pilots do. Overall the ride has improved. I've owned 5-6 sets of Toyo tires over 10-15 years. Almost always very happy with them. I hope their quality isn't dropping - that would be a shame.
