26000 miles on tires, followed Manufacturer's recommended service. Chunks of rubber falling off tire. Not safe. Continental told me OEM tires do not have a mileage warranty. My only conclusion is OEM tires are inferior.
Had my dealership mount the 2016 model X-Ice 3's on my escape 4wd. It's been almost 4 months of moderate to light snow in my area of Canada with some severe ice conditions and a lot of wet conditions. I must say I am very impressed with the handling and grip on both ice and wet roads. Snow never reached more than 5 inches this year but theses tires had no problem with traction. Couple this with Michelin's legendary treadwear life and these tires receive 5 stars.
Big decision buying tires. Had original Continental tires. Were away at 38,000. Needed tires to drive home from Florida. Experienced all four seasons. Felt comfortable in three seasons was cautious during the snow. But who drives fast in the snow. Good quality tire for the money recommend them.
