Bought these based on ratings from Tire rack...good to see they rate highly here as well. These handle nicely (firm for aggressive corning) and have been wearing well. I have about 40 000 on these. I've dome some sharp stops with some morning snows to see when the abs would take over and have been impressed for a non-winter tire. I recently was on some black ice on an off ramp and they stuck, so I was quite impressed. I do have blizzaks for winter but these manage quite well for those early season fluke snow storms or bad mountain rains. The only issue is that I find these not that quiet...but I'm anal about road noise. Wife doesn't notice a thing. Yes, I would buy again....plus Cdn Tire had a sale on these.
Bought these tires as they reportedly had good wet and dry grip and were quiet. Dry grip is great. Quick response and good holding in curves. Wet grip is only fair. You must be very easy on the gas if there is even a hint of moisture on the roadway. Unless your roadway is new and extremely smooth, these tires are LOUD! That was my biggest disappointment in these tires. They are much louder than the Bridgestones that came with the car.
Firstly, I would like to mention to all drivers to ignore any negative comments about the Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1 tyres. My wife and I drove from Calgary to Edmonton (276.93Kms) on the Queen Elizabeth 2 highway with no problems, as it was clear going up from Calgary. However, while in Edmonton the night time temperatures dropped down to minus 15 degrees Celsius and we drove back down Queen Elizabeth 2 with no issues at all during heavy snow fall and ice. We returned back down to Calgary from Edmonton on Queen Elizabeth 2 highway, she saw many counted 28 cars which were abandoned in the ditch, simply because of the amount of ice and sleet from the night before, which had then refroze again, while we drove with confidence. The Bridgestone DM-V1 tyres stuck to the road like Velcro, even though there was black ice and heavy snow. We did not even have to engage the 4 wheel drive mode, snow mode (ECT) or even lock mode. The vehicle simply drove, as if it was in the summer., both my Wife and I have 100% confidence in these tyres, bearing in mind that I have 25 years of driving experience, both here in Canada and the United States, as well as, throughout Europe and my wife has over 23 years driving experience here in Canada, therefore an overall combined 48 years driving experience. I again reiterate, that the Bridgestone DM-V1 tyres are best winter tyres that we have had throughout our driving experience, as they simply do the job of gripping, accelerating with no slipping or sliding and more importantly stopping. Well done Bridgestone for manufacturing such a great winter tyre.
