My Subaru Impreza Sport (2014) came with Yokohama Avid S34 tires. At about 7,600 miles I noticed a "bubble" on the right front tire. I called Yokohama, who instructed me to take the tire to a local dealer. The dealer inspected the tire, called Yokohama and told me that I would get 25% toward one new tire, not including balancing, etc. They did not acknowledge that this was a manufacturing defect.
I called Subaru, who said that the tires were still under warranty by the manufacturer. Since this is an AWD car, there was enough wear on the tires that I was advised by Subaru to buy FOUR NEW TIRES. Needless to say, I did not buy Yokohamas, but replaced the tires with Michelins, which I am confident will perform better.
Subaru reimbursed us for half of the cost of the new MIchelin tires. Yokohama has not answered any communications.
Bottom line: tires don't perform well (I got stuck in the snow, never happened before with a Subaru); manufacturing defects; company won't acknowledge them or honor the warranty.
I advise every to STAY AWAY from Yokohama tires.
Not too impressed. Only ended up getting 15k out of these. Wore unevenly and Steering wheel started to vibrate once I got over 75 in the last month I had them (total of 6). I was worried about the uneven wear so I got an alignment and everything with the vehicle checked out fine. minor sliding on hard corners in mountain backroads where my previous tires stuck great. Not buying these again.
So far these tires are excellent. A little bit of a shake before they warm up but NOT SERIOUS at all. Dry handling feels a little floaty but for an all season very acceptable. Wet handling is INCREDIBLE. Couldn't ask for a more confident feel, even compared to Dunlop SP Sport 01's. Haven't been able to test in snow yet but everyone else with a WRX except for a few select people love them. Like I said, excellent so far. I'm very excited for winter. I love the predictable-yet-less-responsible feel of an all-season in the snow. This will be my first season with a high performance all season in the snow as well.
