Surprised to see all the negative comments about the snow/ice performance of these tires, as I've found them to be exceptional in these conditions. Excellent traction in both cornering and particularly braking, providing a high degree of confidence. I actually look forward to having a bit of snow on the less traveled roads as it's fun driving in it and pushing them to see what they'll do (though AWD quattro contributes).
The only complaint I have is with the road noise on dry pavement. Coming from 4 seasons with a set of Dunlop Winter Sport M3's on an Audi A4 (which are now on my wife's A4 for their 5th season with plenty of tread), these Pirelli's perform as good, if not better in the snow - but the Dunlops were much quieter in the dry. They may have softened down a bit now that I've hit the 2500km mark, but at speed over 100km/hr they give off an annoying hum I could do without. A bit too early to tell how the tread is wearing, but if the noise doesn't quiet down and the tread wear isn't as good, I'm likely to go back to the Dunlops when it comes time to replace these.
