The CS4 Touring™ is Cooper´s premium luxury touring tire designed for drivers who want optimum ride comfort, sporty handling, all-season traction and attractive styling and performance in a touring tire that will appeal to any tire buyer and drivers of all ages. The CS4 Toring™ size coverage accommodates a wide range of vehicles from sport models and sedans to SUVs and CUVs

  • Variable Density Nylon Technology. Nylon is strategically placed in a manner to resist flat spotting for improved ride quality and balanced, even tread wear for long life.
  • Innovative 5-Rib (H/V-Rated) and 4-Rib (T-Rated) All-Season Tread Design. The innovative tread design incorporates numerous features to provide for excellent stability, traction and tread wear.
  • Coupled Silica Tread Compound. The chemically coupled silica and carbon black compound allows for superior wet traction without sacrificing tread wear. An optimized polymer matrix allows the compound to remain pliable at lower temperatures while contributing to lower rolling resistance.
  • Tapered Circumferential Sipes Rib (H/V-Rated). The tapered circumferential sipes allow for increased capillary action to remove water from the tread area to reduce wet stop distances and provide extra grip in rain and snow.
  • Open Shoulder Design (T-Rated). The open shoulder design utilizes lateral slots and strategic siping to create biting edges for all-season traction, improved wet cornering performance and excellent handling in snow.

At 63000 miles: one tire at 2/32, two tires at 3/32+, one tire at 4/32. Mostly highway miles, 60-75 mph, rotated tires only once around 40,000. Not the smoothest ride but did not worsen throughout life of tires. No wet slipping until near the end of tire life. Only drove in ice one time, eight hours of sleet and freezing rain, tires were at around 50,000 miles and traction was not that good. Only that one experience. Will place order for a set of CS5 this week.

To those that have had a good experience, congratulations! This is my second set of CS4's because the first set all had web cracks inside the tire when put on the spreader. I thought it could have just been a bad lot of tires as I know of others that recommend them. I also did receive an adjustment if I purchased Coopers so being a tightwad, I got another set of CS4's. I told the hometown dealer immediately that at least one tire had a bad belt as the car thumped. I was not made aware of the 45 day trial period or they would not be on the car anymore. Besides that, we live in Iowa where we have more than our share of ice and snow. The car feels like it is on marbles any time it is slightly icy. Other FWD vehicles fly around us like we don't know what we are doing. We pulled off the road one night for fear of being a statistic while some friends continued another 100 miles. A gentleman at the hotel said he almost traded a car because it was so scary to drive in winter. He replaced the Coopers with another brand and thought he had a new car. I'm sorry to Cooper supporters but I won't be at the picnic!

These were outstanding tires for the first 20,000 miles, almost no tread wear, handled great in rain and snow. Then the leaks started and the tread disappeared from the tires, The dealer I bought them from offered no explanation for the problems and no assistance in resolving the issue. At 35,000 miles they are done. They are supposed to have a 60,000 mile warranty but I'm not interested in a replacement set from Cooper. I'm not happy with the brand or the dealer. I'll take my business somewhere else.

Ditto the comment about leaks around the rim. Mounted these tires on my Olds Aurora and had constant leaking problems form 3 of 4 tires, particularly when outside temp below 50 degrees.

I had these tires for just over 2 years on my Cadillac DTS. I had never ending problems with leaks around the rims. I have never in my life spent so much time putting air in tires... expensive new ones. Some of the trouble may be attributed to the chrome finish on the factory wheels but since I replaced the Cooper's (and before) I had little to no trouble. Cooper as a company recognizes the problem and did make me a good adjustment.
