The Discoverer A/T3™ utilizes a balanced combination of technology, compounding and design to produce a tire that will perform well in nearly all types of terrains. The tread compound enhances wet traction and rolling resistance, while the aggressive tread design significantly improves off-road traction without sacrificing highway performance. All traction, all terrain, all the time!

  • Modern, Aggressive 5-Rib All-Terrain Design. The aggressive all-terrain design is engineered to provide outstanding performance in both on-road and off-road driving applications. The A/T3 tread pattern exploits a combination of features specifically suited to provide solid all-terrain performance, superior all-season traction, excellent stability, confident handling and reliable tread wear.
  • Silica Based Tread Compound. The tread compound is formulated with a chemically coupled silica and carbon black mixture that provides excellent wet traction and handling on the highway, while also improving cut and chip resistance in more harsh rocky and gravel terrain. The silica enriched tread compound has lower rolling resistance than traditional full carbon black tread compounds.
  • Dual Draft Tread Element Walls. The dual draft angles on the tread element walls aid in reducing stone retention, stone drilling and assist in cut and chip resistance.
  • Lateral Groove Protectors. Serrated steps in the lateral grooves of the intermediate tread rib reduces the chance of stone retention and stone drilling.

Just picked up a set of these tires this past weekend and so far I absolutely love them. I went with a taller tires than the stock goodyears it came with and I'm very happy with the purchase. Already driven through a pretty big rain storm and I never once was worried about losing traction. They eat water like its nothing...they make almost no noise at all which is rare for a thick pattern like these have. Cant comment on snow or mileage because I havent had them that long and I have yet to try them in snow. I did notice a slight drop in MPG but thats because I went with a bigger tire so I expected that...

On a small 4x4 these tires rock. They ride silent and they stick like they are made of superglue. In wet conditions I found they don't hydroplane much at all. In winter they leave a little to be desired on iced roads but they chew through snow like its nothing. I have climbed hills with these on where other cars end up crawling up snow covered roads with their tires spinning like mad. As far as tread wear goes I'm at around 15000km and they look the same as they did the day I put them on. Highly recommend these

I bought these for a daily driver/weekend warrior wheeler. Had problems getting them balanced initially and that appears to be common with these. Hunter Roadforce balanced and now smoth as silk. Great on the highway dry and wet though snow is another story. I expected more traction from these in that dept. Off road, very good in the sand but gets cut up easily in the rocks and traction is not as good as some of the other AT tires on the market. Mud is not their thing either as they clog easily and don't clear the mud, as expected, just like all AT tires. 1 big bone of contention with me is these things are super short. I bought a 285/75r16 expecting to get a 33" tall tire and this thing is barely 31"! I won't be buying these again as while great on road, they don't hold up well to off road use and certainly don't deliver adequate tration off road. It's best to leave these to street use IMHO.
