The Discoverer M+S™ is Cooper´s premium studdable winter SUV/Light truck tire designed for drivers looking for excellent traction on snow and ice. The Discoverer M+S™ line fits a wide range of SUVs and Light trucks, foreign and domestic.

  • Strategically-Placed Stud Pin Holes. Provide enhanced stud retention while delivering optimum traction on ice.
  • "D Squared" D2 Sipe Technology. A dense zig-zag sipe pattern further enhances winter performance while maintaining excellent wet traction. The sipes are deep to provide performance benefits throughout the life of the tire.
  • "Snow-Groove" Design Technology. Provides biting edges for excellent snow and ice traction without reducing tread element stiffness. Capitalizes on the higher traction characteristics of "snow on snow" versus "snow on rubber".

This is my first time with studded snow tires. These things are incredible. It's actually difficult to lose grip with these things. Nothing in any situation has been able to stop me. Stopping power, cornering, acceleration, all great. I was afraid to not go with a nokian or blizzak winter tire, but these have not let me down.

I bought these as the first winter storm hit in the Oregon Cascades. Its been 6 weeks of constant snow storms, ice, and everything in between. We're nearing a record amount of snow in town, and the Cooper M+S tires (stock size 275/65R18) have performed flawlessly, even though I did not get them studded. If they were studded, I can only imagine how much better they would be on ice. I've only put 1000 miles on them so far, but as far as winter tires go, these can't be beat for the price.

I recently moved to the High Country of Colorado from Southern California, and I drive a 2WD, 2002 Silverado. When I first came to the Great State of CO, my truck was immediately obsolete. Any trace of ice or snow and my pick-up became an ice skate. I spent my first winter here walking and skiing to work because my truck literally couldn't make it out of the driveway. Then, in October of 2015 I purchased a set of the Cooper Discoverer M&S (255/70/16), and the difference has made me feel like an idiot. I have driven my truck through stuff that I would have NEVER been able to handle last year. These tires have allowed me to take my truck to places I never imagined it would go. I have passed subarus due to them bottoming out, and had no troubles. I have passed 4WD trucks and jeeps that have been struggling on icy hills (presumably due to bad tires, but idk). Kudos to Cooper for making an AWESOME tire. I'll never purchase anything else for the winter, and when I go to buy another set of 3 seasons, best bet I'll be buying Cooper. To anybody who has a 2WD and is wondering if snow tires really make a difference: before you go drop 20-30 grand on a 4WD truck, go spend 800 bucks on some good tires. You'll be glad you did. . .
