General Tires

General Tires

General tire was founded in 1915 in Akron, Ohio by William F. O’Neil and Winfred E. Fouse. At the time that they entered the marketplace there were over 300 competing tire companies. Because of this O’Neil and Fouse made the decision to focus on manufacturing premium replacement tires rather than original equipment tires. This early innovation helped General Tires secure a position as one of the industry’s leaders. Today, General Tires carries on that tradition as a part of Continetal Tire the Americas. With the combined expertise of their parent company, they have continued to innovate, providing a complete line of quality, ultra-high performance, passenger and light truck tires. They continue to work effortlessly to develop state-of-the-art technologies such as Duragen, 3D Sipe and Monitor Technology. General Tires is also part of Team GT, which puts General Tires to the test on racetracks and desert. By testing their tires in the most extreme conditions, they can ensure that they are bringing the best in tire technology to the consumer. “You can go anywhere on your Generals!”
