Worn down to 3/32 after 26,000 miles. They stayed at 3/32 for an additional 12,000 miles – but who wants to ride on nearly worn out tires?

I bought four new Assurance Fuel Max 235/70R16 tires one week ago. In addition, I had a full alignment done. I felt a vibration while driving home immediately after picking up my vehicle from the shop that put them on, so I wanted to get it back soon to have them rechecked. I did that this morning. I was told one tire had thrown a "shoe", and all tires had been rebalanced. They also said the technician admitted he could still detect a slight vibration if he listened very carefully, but it would take more time to look into it. However, his overall assessment was that the vibration was definitely lessened. I drove it home just now and can still clearly hear a vibration. Now I've got to make yet another appointment. I even drove my wife's car just now on the same roads to make sure it's not the road itself. (Its not the road.) I've been going to the same GoodYear tire store for years and have dealt with vibration problems on at least three of the vehicles I've owned. In the early years, I thought that it was probably that I wasn't paying close enough attention to when the tires were rotated. But even after paying better attention to that, the vibrations continued to be a problem. I now am pretty convinced that GoodYear tires are simply low quality. I won't be buying their brand ever again. Also, these new Assurance tires definitely produce a lot of road noise.

Will never ever buy again. I had a now obsolete assurance tyre that lasted 80,000kms and gave me outstanding mileage. Within 2 weeks of this tyre I knew that it would much cheaper for me if I threw them in the tip and bought some new tyres. I was right. The fuel consumption INCREASED by 10% for the life of the tyre.....which has only been 40,000kms and now I need to replace them because it sounds like I'm driving a truck. I have driven this car for 340,000kms and this is the worst tyre ever

Consumers Reports contains erroneous ratings in my opinion. Very loud with premature wear at 54,000 km
