First set lasted 65K miles on my 2010 Forester, and I’ve been riding on a second set for the last 6K. There are not many tires that match, let alone surpass, the value to price ratio of these Hankooks. Top features include a great grip on wet roads, sound water displacement (no hydroplaning) and outstanding traction on dry pavement. I’m satisfied to have obtained 65K of trouble-free thread-wear, and a fairly confortable ride for the duration. This tire's ability to grip, stay on track and to stop in snow conditions, is the best compliment for my car's AWD system. Tire noise at highway speeds is noticeable inside my Forester, however, for the safety & dependability that these tires provide, quietness would be mere icing on the cake. Aside from unrealistic expectations for a tire of this price, I suspect that any faults attributed to an Optimo H727 may have a lot to do with improper use such as overinflation, underinflation or pushing it beyond its limits. For the factors that I hold as critical in a tire, and as most appropriate to match the features of my Subaru, I find these all season radials offer top performance and value for the price. Will not hesitate to buy a third set, or to recommend to any friends owning a Subaru.

The first two sets of tires on our 2006 Sienna van lasted about 35,000 miles each - with about 50% highway miles. I wanted better than that, so I put the 100,000 mile rated Hankook 727's on November 2011. I'm realistic. I hoped for 70,000. The Hankook H727 harder rubber compound cannot grip the road, under any condition, as well as a softer compound, but they were very adequate for the first 35,000 miles. then they began getting a bit slippery. They also began dry rotting after just 3 years. I'm also realistic about where I live - In the snow belt in salty southeast Pennsylvania - with LOTS of POTHOLES. You can't blame the tire manufacturer for all your tire problems when you live here. I religiously rotated and maintained inflation pressure. Most of our driving this last year was local around town. The tire wear was very even but getting thin, and I had a second tire get a bad lump in it that affected the steering so, with 52,000 miles on them, they had to go. I just put a set of Pirelli P4's on, and will hope for the best tire wear yet. Watch out for those pot holes.

When compared with OEMs in my Forester, these tires corner and stop with outstanding precision. Now on 55,000 miles, and I'm certain they'll go another 10k, but will buy a new set for the winter out of precaution. The tires greatest attributes are an excellent grip on heavy rain and snow (but not on ice). They compliment my Subaru for the comfort and noise that is inherent to the car itself (it does not float like a Cady nor stings as a Beamer). The Hankook H727 are an outstanding value for the features and performance they offer. These tires may disappoint if you expect performance and comfort fit for a Lamborghini or Rolls Royce while unwilling to pay for it.
