Ive put the tires through their paces. From the snow covered twisty roads of Northeastern BC to the black ice sheets of Manitoba and everything in between, these tires are very impressive. It was a rare time that I had to engage the 4wd on the truck thanks to the gripping ability of the tires (we were accessing the mountainous backcountry for some skiing prospects). Great tires, Ill be adding them to the other truck next winter

Last year was the first year to ever use winter tires on any car (a 2005 Taurus wagon with Hankook W409's) and the improvement over the all-season Bridgestone Turanza's was amazing. Trying to climb moderate hills on frosty or icy roads from a dead stop was literally impossible with the Bridgestone's but trivial with the Hankooks. When we got the new Taurus we immediately went for Hankooks, but the W409 was not available to fit our car, so we "gambled" on the RW11's.
So far these tires are responding very well for Vancouver-Fraser Valley weather. Work well in wet and dry, with temps in the -2 to +10 C range, similar to the all-season Michelins it came with. Noise doesn't seem to be an issue, but the car is extremely quiet inside anyway, so it is difficult to tell. Handling is a little less precise, but still very good. Ride/comfort is about the same as the stock tires. Tire wear is not noticeable at this point.
No snow to speak of in my area, so can't really comment on that - I am giving Hankook the benefit of doubt with my rating, based on the way the W409's worked last year, since they seem to be performing the same way in all other respects.
The biggest challenge is the early morning frost on our very, very steep driveway and so far it has been a breeze. I was surprised when I had to walk down the driveway and just slid to the bottom - no clue from the way the car eased up the hill with absolutely minimal fuss. Impressive tire to me so far. My wife is convinced Hankook makes the best tires in the world. I am thrilled to find winter tires actually work as promoted.
For my car and the way I drive, an excellent choice. I would give 5 stars across the board, but this is only the first season with them and the weather has been relatively mild.
Some of the negative comments are simply bizarre...I'm glad I did not let them change my decision to get these tires (or the W409's).

i bought a set of 4 less than 5 hours ago and its definetly not for compact cars. my car slides and litterally skates all over the road. I do not feel safe driving one these tires. Maybe with fresh snow i'll feel difeerent but the snow has compacted and even with lots of gravel on Calgary roads these tires have absolutely no tracktion like i said i bought these this afternnoon i ve drove home and was scary ride. My wornout Goodyear Ultra grip with 4/32 remaining trads performed a whole lot better
