Michelin´s best standard passenger car - minivan tire ever offering confident driving through exceptional safety, longevity and a quiet, comfortable ride so that you can protect those you care about most.

  • Exceptional grip provided by IntelliSipe™ Technology maximizes the number of sipes within the tire, which allows you to brake confidently when you need to most for greater peace of mind in stressful driving situations.
  • MaxTouch Construction combined with the interlocking action of Michelin´s Breakthrough IntelliSipe™ Technology delivers impressively long wear life by providing exceptional tread block rigidity while optimizing the tire´s contact with the road during acceleration, braking and cornering.
  • The interlocking action of IntelliSipes™ creates a more rigid tread block, which allows for a reduced starting tread depth leading to lower rolling resistance so you can save fuel without sacrificing safety or longevity.

I bought these tires in spring of 2013, so I've had them 2 years. They were very expensive (over $800), but I bought them for the 90,000 rating. At first they were great, a 100% improvement over the old tires. They were excellent in rain and snow. But there was noticeable tread wear after only 10,000 miles, and this last winter (I live in Michigan) they were terrible in the snow. I got stuck in my own driveway for the first time ever, and the tires spun every time I started to move on any snow at all. Now last week I went in for a tire rotation and was told they are worn out, after only 34,000 miles. I couldn't believe it! Then they would only give me a small percentage off on the new tires, and they wanted to give me another set of Defenders. Are they nuts? Why would I buy those again? I'm extremely disappointed that these tires wore out so super fast. I've had cheap tires last more than twice as long.

Will replace my tires at 55,000 mls with another set of Defenders. Very quiet, exceptional handling and traction in snow and rain.

WARNING!!! Don't buy the Michelin Defender. Had Michelins since 1971 and this is the first horrible Michelin tire. Wear out in 30,000 miles with very easy driving. Totally unsafe in snow and ice. Skid and get stuck everywhere. Repeat DO NOT BUY the Michelin Defender!!!
