Michelin LTX M/S2

Michelin LTX M/S2 on-road highway tires offer an exceptional combination of performances for light trucks and SUVs. The new 3-D Active Sipes and optimized contact patch of MaxTouch construction combine to deliver 32,000 more kilometers than the competition. New silica tread compounds and better lateral water evacuation to help you stop 2.2 meters shorter than the competitor's tire. Plus, with 8% more biting edges this tire delivers better snow traction than the legendary LTX M/S tire. The extra steel belt in all LT sizes provides incredible durability and strength to handle loads.

I bought these tires a little over a year ago after researching several brands to replace the OEM Bridgestones on my Chevy half ton pickup, which had over 90000 miles on them. I have put a little over 15000 miles on them now, have them rotated them every 5000 miles and maintain 35 PSI per the dealers recommendation. They have been great tires up until the last few weeks. I've been getting a steady vibration from both front and back wheels and went to my dealer today to have them do a road force balance. The dealer called a couple hours later to tell me that the tires were badly out of round and that they would do the best they could to balance them. After I picked up the truck I drove about 30 miles on the highway before returning to the dealer to tell them that the issue is worse rather than better. Since the service manager was not in today I have to go back tomorrow to see what, if anything, he will do about them. I had high expectations from Michelin and am really disappointed in these tires. I will go back to Bridgestones next time I buy tires.

Replaced factory Dunlap's at 51,000 miles with the LTX M-S2's. I now have 158,000 on my 2007 4Runner. I just had a state inspection on the vehicle, and they estimated I still have a good 20K left on them. Simply the best tire I have ever owned. I had LTX 2's on my 1999 4Runner and put over 80k on them and they still had plenty of tread when I sold it. I don't think there is a better tire on the road today.

Completely devoid of traction in snow. Rain and mud are also difficult for these tires to navigate. They are fantastic on dry pavement though.

I just purchased the second set of M/S 2 Tires. The first set I owned where on a work truck in the Oilfield. They where put through hell and never had a problem. I put 98000 miles on them over bad roads and highways. These are the best tires I have ever owned. So when I purchased my current truck used it had a set of Saffiro Maxtrac tires on it. They began to fall apart after 10000 miles mild use. So after my fourth flat on four different tires I decided to go with the tried and true and put the M/S2s on my truck. First impressions are good. seems to take bumps a little harder but thats ok. Mileage improved slightly and the ride is much Quiter. Will keep informed if anything changes

I have used Michelin LTX M/S tires exclusively on my tundra after I ditched the factory Dunlops....poor grip and noisy, not to mention poor mileage. Although I have never achieved the nominal mileage with them, I prefer handling and braking performance over tire wear every and any day. These new M/S2 tires are noticeably quieter on the road than my old LTX ones. They seem to grip a bit better as well. I like them a lot.
