This is our second winter with these Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3 on a Lincoln MKS All Wheel Drive. (19 inch - 255/45R19). They are, without question, the best all around winter and ice tires that we have used. The last set of ice tires we had on our former Lincoln was a set of Bridgestone Blizzaks. The Blizzaks were fine when new, but wore rapidly and lost traction as they wore. They also became noisy. So far, we are much happier with the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA3 tires. I won't buy Blizzaks again, I hope.
It has occurred to me that these tires give the driver too much confidence on ice. They feel so stable that if one ever had to make a panic stop, one might be going faster than one should be going. One has to remember how dangerous ice can be.
They are as quiet and ride as well as the summer tires that we took off in the fall. They are wearing well and have not gone out of balance. Smooth and quiet.

Altima 225/55/17 (non MF rims). Bought them last year for my wife's car. Excellent grip on heavy snow, the car is very confident. They are good on ice. I'm big on noise so this one is probably the quietest you can find out there among winter tires. I'd say they are 20% noisier than Bridgestone Turanza EL42 all season ones (you practically don't feel them).

Listed as a winter tire but would work way better as summer tire. Any signs of snow, ice, sand or gravel and you're going to lose it. Work as a driving instructor and have never been scared until I put on these tires. Wore out 50% of tread in one season due to constantly spinning the wheels due to no traction. Best used as playground tire swing.

They handle like a charm on cold roads. They don't seemd to have great grip on ice, but work well in slush and light snow.
Will see how they perform in the deep snow soon, as living in Montreal it should be here pretty soon. Certainly overpriced, my dealer sold them to me at the time of puchase of my car, but in retrospect, should have shopped and bought the Bridgestones which are a better value and I know are better on ice

A light dusting of snow and a little bit of ice and these tires become useless. Its -5*C today and a light dusting of snow and traction was miserable.
