Winter driving and long mileage performance are raised to the next level with the WinGuard Sport. Its high density multi-sipe elevates grip for braking on icy and snowy roads, simultaneously increasing longevity. Snowy or dry traction and cornering are improved with the asymmetric tread. Large wide grooves effectively drain water for anti-hydroplaning performance.

  • 4 Wide Circumferential Grooves - Upgrade drainage and anti-hydroplaning performance on wet roads.
  • Asymmetric Tread Design - Improve traction and cornering performance in both wet and snowy roads.
  • High Density Multi-Sipe - Enhanced grip for braking on icy and snowy roads and increased longevity.
  • 5 Random Pitch Variation - Optimized sectional design to reduce pattern noise.
  • Particular Kerf Design.
  • Shoulder Design.

Dry and wet roads ok. Doesn't get traction with 3" or more snow and iffy on ice

I have a heavily modified car. 400wheel horsepower. I need a lot of traction and I love to mess around in the snow. I also have a commute. It's a daily driver. Who's messing around in the blizzard last year, no problem at all. This is a WINTER SPORT TIRE not a snow tire. I can't drive through snow deeper then 5 inches but it was not a problem. Ice is always iffy. You can't grip on ice with a Sherman tank. But nonetheless a good solid tire.

I commute 5 days/week from Red Deer to Calgary (often EXTREME winter driving conditions), and for the money this tire is impressive. I was always partial to the NOKIAN WRG2 ($1000) for winter in Alberta, and was surprised to see a full-on winter tire for the price of the WINGUARD Sport. Even at low temp the rubber seems to stay pliable. The sidewall is somewhat soft, but with lower air pressure in winter (25-28 psi) for better traction it is expected. I will definitely recommend these tires to anyone with a sport sedan!

Similar sentiment with another driver- when i bought these there wasnt a lot of information out there but the little there was encouraging and the price got me sold. Surprised the hell out of me with my ABS barely kicking in that entire first season even with the decent about of snow in Boston that we got. I have used them for two more seasons after that and they continue to be extremely confidence enducing-none of that white knuckle driving in winter. A 17 mile drive on a barely plowed Maine back road was the only time i have felt anxious in the 3 seasons. As with any winter tire, they are definitely loud on dry pavement, the side wall is a little soft too, one just has to remember that. Great tire in my opinion, the noise would be my only complaint.
