The NT420S was specifically engineered to provide confident performance in rain or shine. The outer shoulder has large, continuous blocks to improve dry traction, while the inner shoulder channels away water for wet performance. The NT420S has a non-directional tread pattern that can be rotated front to back and side-to-side. This freedom of rotation can provide even wear across the tread and reduce the irregular wear that is commonly associated with directional tires. Even wear ensures a quieter, more comfortable ride and longer tread life. The result is a stress-free, high performance radial.

These are supposed to be an all-season tire, but they are horrible in snow, and hydroplane very easily if there is any standing water on the road. That's especially scary when pulling a trailer. If I lived in a wet climate I would get rid of them. In all fairness though, mine is a fairly wide tire on a 20" wheel (though it is the OEM factory size) and that probably does not help the wet weather performance. That's really my only complaint. They do generate a little road noise, but balanced well and do not vibrate at all, which is very important to me. They seem to be wearing very well, but I will probably go for more of a truck tire on this SUV next time around.

I have these on my 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac. I use these as my high performance summer tire. Fantastic handling in dry and wet weather. Good for 2 summers, maybe 3. I believe they are probably one of the best all around truck sport tire out there. Highly recommended. They look great, you won't regret purchasing these.

Bought the truck in 2007 (2 years old) with OEM tires on it that did not make it long- then bought a set of Nitto 420 305/50 and drove this truck like a sports cars. GREAT handling, Great traction during the frequent rain storms in Florida. Got over 45,000 miles and then bought second set - Love these tires. Closing in on my second 45,000 miles on set number two.
