FITMENT GUARANTEE

The Trail Grappler® MT blends some of the off-road performance of the Mud Grappler® with the on-road comfort of the Terra Grappler® to create a tire that is both aggressive and quiet.

  • The 3-ply sidewall with a high turn-up construction acts as an extra layer of reinforcement to increase puncture resistance.
  • Advanced sound analysis equipment was used to systematically reduce the noises normally heard when driving on off-road tires.
  • Nitto´s proprietary, automated manufacturing system produces extraordinarily uniform tires. This creates a smooth ride on paved roads.
  • The balanced void ratio efficiently removes mud and dirt from the tread to provide continuous off-road traction.

This is my second set. First set I rotated every oil change and monitored the pressures and was able to squeak 40K out of them. This set I haven't been as reliable on the rotation but check pressures every week. I'm at 22K and ready to buy another set of tires this week. I'm going to jump ship to another tire that seems to be getting good reviews and isn't as aggressive as these. I've always gone for the MT style because I duck, deer and elk hunt and wanted the aggressive tire for the off road situations. These have never let me down but going to a more mid range between MT and AT tire seems like a good idea since 90% of my driving is on road. One thing I always hated about these tires is how squirrelly they are when they are new. Driving on them the first 5K seems like they are way over inflated and the ass end of the truck is loosely goosey! Good in snow and pretty good in rain. Wish they came with a mileage warranty. My truck is a lifted 1 ton crew cab long bed Cummins. I rarely haul heavy loads but do pull a trailer from time to time. Mostly mountain roads out west for my daily drive.

I am on my second set of Nitto Trail Grapplers(Which I bought in Feburay 2016 and has less than 5,000.miles). I was pulling into my driveway which is lined with rocks about 12" x 12" in size. I clipped one and immediately my tire air pressure warning begin to flash. I got out and i saw a small tear in my sidewall. I couldn't believe it. I was going less than 5 mph and this amount of damage was done by clipping a rock. Now i know of a bunch of people buy these for off-roading and rock climbing. I got them for traction in the snow and seasonal off road for hunting. I am just glad it happened at a slow speed. Here is the response from Nitto: Unfortunately, Nitto tires do not have any warranty coverage for road hazards. Also, for reference if your tire strikes a road hazard at any speed, internal tire damage could result, which may lead to sudden tire failure and loss of vehicle control. Tire failure may even occur miles after the initial impact. Impact damage from such hazards may not be visible on the outside of the tire and it may be necessary to have the tire removed from the wheel for a complete inspection. Sincerely, Nitto Technical Department Great customer service. If i make a product and sell it to consumers with a no warranty label, I would still back up my product in some cases. I know that I was a big proponent of Nitto tire but after this experience , I will never purchase another product from Nitto. Also will I never recommend Nitto products. Please pass along my experience to others on social media as well as in person. For those out there that still have a set on thier vehicles, watch out for rocks.
