Australian driver - very experienced off-road here. I use my diesel FL2/Freelander 2 for long trips, gravel, exploring, and some suburban running. These are simply the best tires for this vehicle, for everything but wear. (Can't comment on snow, but...) Most notable feature; for a high-speed tire, their grip in clay/mud is astonishing. Would probably work equally well with the 'Discovery Sport'. Suit someone who actually does go off-road (but the best off-road tyres are on r17). Not cheap, but one can get bargains on-line. Recommended with caveats. Got about 30,000km.

In Australia so snow isn't an issue. Long distances and hot weather are though. Car handles well enough but was disappointed with the durability. OEM tyres lasted 40,000 km while the Pirellis were pretty much gone at 30,000 km. To be fair this might have been partially due to a not so flash wheel alignment. Am going to try another brand this time.
