I Northern Vermont where we do with lots of deep snow and lots of ice these tires are just incredible both in the snow and the ice the damage they do to a slab of ice makes it look like you're driving with chains on your tires now they're loud on dry pavement but I but I didn't buy snow tires to drive on dry pavement if you don't mind a little extra noise these are the best I hear I've had ever better than the Haka pilitas on ice

This is an alternative to Nokian Hakkapellita Studded It is a very agressive tire. It is excellent in extreme winter conditions. It as a firm sidewall so a lot of feedback from the road and very sensitive steering. It is also very noisy at low speed and okay noisy at highway speed. I drove it for 15000km agressively and I lost only one stud and it the wear is low considering my driving style. I lost approximatly 2/32 on the fronts and 1/32 on rear tires. If you are driving in very bad conditions often and don't worry much about noise/comfort, this is the tire for you. I never got stuck even in very deep snow and Ice feels almost like wet pavement. Don't listen to people who tells you studs are dangerous on dry/wet pavement. This is not true with a factory Studded tire, the stud technology is way better than before.

This is an excellent tire. Like any studded tire its very clicky on dry pavement. Stop/Starts were excellent on both snow and Ice. Definitely recommend if you want a confident drive on less than ideal road conditions.

If you're looking for a moderately priced, well rounded winter tire to give you a little extra piece of mind over the winter... Don't buy these. These tires are a pricey option. The double-clawed studs make a crazy racket, especially on asphalt. Ride comfort was obviously not a priority in their design. That's because nothing on this tire is compromised. They will provide you the absolute best grip possible at the expense of everything else. And at that, these tires excel beyond my wildest expectations. Slamming on my brakes on a sheet of sheer, polished ice feels barely different than braking on dry asphalt. With the help of some Subaru AWD, I rarely even see my traction control light letting me know that I'm experiencing slipping when accelerating from a stop... And when I do, it's the light that lets me know... The car still hustles up to speed. If you want an uncompromised tire, you couldn't possible be happier with anything else. Just buy these now.
