I have been using Achilles ATR for about 5 years however the last set I bought seemed to have an issue with them. All the previous ATR's I've had gripped well in wet & dry but this set had no traction in the wet & very little in the dry. I went back to JAX tyres where I had bought all my tyres. received very little help from them but did get the reps number who didn't want to know about it & informed me that the tyres have NO warranty for grip. I had explained that at no time did I ask for a refund or replacement just wanted to know why this set wouldn't grip. was told again about the NO warranty. then he said bye. Achilles don't want to know if we have a problem. The up side is that my business has 6 cars & we won't be using Achilles again & will also seek a new retailer. I would strongly recommend a different brand of tyre. This current set of Achilles ATR's I have had break into wheels-pin at 100k/mh on a damp road when trying over-take. Very scary & dangerous & still Achilles don't care. BE WARNED IF YOU GET A BAD SET PEOPLE CAN DIE!!!

I bought these 2 years ago and have now put 18,000 miles on them and they show significant wear and will need replacing by 25K. Living in Maryland where we get plenty of inclimate weather I can say with confidence I would never buy these tires again. While they are great on dry pavement, as soon as the pavement is damp it might as well be ice. The tires are okay driving straight in rain, but taking turns can be quite scary at times as the car just wants to slide as if on ice. They seem okay at best on snow, but since my car is AWD I would expect less spinning then they seem to do with these tires.

I have these in 205/45/17 profile. I live in Auckland, New Zealand where it can rain at anytime and have found these tyres excellent! Great handling in dry and wet. With my profile i dont have much tyre noise, you may get some if you had 40 series but thats the trade off for low profile tyres... Only had the tyres for a couple weeks so cant comment on treadwear. But for the price and depending on your driving they should last a few years. Ive had Kuhmo 712/Admirals before and would say these are similar all round. Dont have snow so cant comment but im sure you would use chains or proper snow tyres if you lived in a snowy area...
