I purchased a set of blizzak w965 studless winter tires (LT 235-85-16) for my 1997 chevy k2500, for snow plowing. I have used them for two years. They are excellent on dry, or wet pavement, as they hug the road nicely, in a predictable manner. For snow, they are good mostly on packed, not heavy fresh snow, as the blocks are too close to each other. On shear ice they perform honestly, for a non studed tire. On gravel, they handle very well, even at higher speeds, but as other reviewers mentio, they pickup every little rock they can, and hold them pretty good! On mud, they are very poor, slippery and clug up right away. Not a deep bush tire. Finally, on rough ice, found on country roads, they are not inspiring any confidence after you slip in curve and hit the ditch with no warning. I do not reccomend this tire if you are about to hit the high way on a snow storm. The tread pattern does not allow for enough traction, and will mostly float. Excellent for all around use in the city. Overall very quiet for a winter tire. I have to mention that the size I purchased is not the good one for this truck. Iy should be LT245-75-16. I found out that instead of getting better mileage, the actually cost at least 30 per cent more! My next set of winter tires will be the BF Goodrich Commercial Traction TA, LT rated as well.

I've never posted to any board before. After spending this winter on my new Blizzaks mounted on a 4cyl 2006 Honda Accord, I just had to write. THESE ARE TERRIFIC TIRES!.. I just could not believe how great they were on ice and snow in Boulder Colorado

93 Dodge 250 4x4 - Lt235 85r 16 - Have had two seasons on these tires. In 2 wheel drive these tires are good on hard pack snow and rough ice . In fresh snow and slushy conditions they load up with snow and are like Teflon on ice. Its embarrasing to get stuck in 1" of fresh snow. In 4x4 mode these tires work as advertised. Full time 4x4's will find these tires good for winter use. For myself i'll be trying a more aggressive tread snow tire.
