Just ran one whole winter with these on my '11 Sorento. Huge improvement over the all-season's I ran the first winter. My commute is 240km/day - all highway - eastern Ontario. I drove through ice rain, snow, ice pellets, slush, frozen slush, drifted snow, etc. I never once felt the tires break loose on the highway. For that matter, I TRIED to break them loose in the parking lot at work on a snowy day and between my TCS and the WS70s I was hard pressed to get more than a small slide. Surprisingly good deep snow performance as well - a weekend trip to a remote cabin took me through 16 inches of un-plowed snow on back roads, and while I had to lock the differential, I wasn't worried about not making it through. Tire wear is superb. I've still got 10/32 after 25,000 km. I should be good for 2 more 25,000km winters at least. Highway noise is moderate - some noticeable hum compared to all seasons but much quieter than other winter tires I've ridden on. As others have noted, these tires are "squishy" - they have soft sidewalls and you aren't going to corner on them like you're on rails, but why would you be cornering like that on snowy winter days? I noticed as the end of the winter season came in late March when I was taking highway off-ramps more aggressively than during the snowy months that there was pronounced sidewall flex, but on the other hand, it provided a somewhat soft supple ride on the highway all winter. They stayed soft right through the coldest mornings, and I never noticed flat spots even in the absolute coldest temperatures. I would definitely buy these again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality winter tire (especially for crossovers and small SUV's).

Excellent choice for Calgary winters. Superior traction and handling on snow covered roads and quiet when enjoying dry pavement during chinooks. Our daily commute includes a large, curving hill and never did my wife or I ever feel that we were losing traction or grip, even when other vehicles were experiencing trouble. While not the cheapest option out there, the WS-70 is a very good choice for Calgary weather and road conditions.
