    All Season

The RS3-A™ is the latest Ultra High Performance all-season tire within the Cooper performance family. This all-season performance tire provides the driver with a dynamic handling and inspires confidence and control.

    • Advanced Technology Mold Profile. Provides for a square tread footprint which means more tread-to-road contact.
    • Asymmetric Design. Allows for tread pattern tuning. This design allows for cross-rotation which reduces heal-toe wear, promotes even wear, less noise and increased overall read life. More rubber on the outboard tread pattern equals exceptional dry handling and traction. The large outside shoulder and intermediate tread elements increase handling, stability control and ultimate cornering ability. The offset shoulder-to-intermediate grooves and large intermediate tread elements are joined together for stable cornering and noise reduction. Laterally oriented shoulder grooves, uniform element geometry and chamfered edges resist irregular or rapid tread wear. The continuous, solid rib on the outside of the center row of tread elements increases steering response. The inboard tread pattern is optimized for wet and light snow conditions. Two, wide circumferential grooves channel water away from the tire for hydroplane resistance. Even wear is achieved by the laterally oriented shoulder grooves and uniform elements. Winter traction performance is aided by the technical sweeping elliptical groove.
    • 3-D Micro-Gauge Siping. Increases tread element stability, improves handling and tire control while reducing the possibility of stone retention. 3-D dimple sipes with interlocking geometry provide more sipe depth without sacrificing tread element stability. The 3-D dimple sipes are used in the center, intermediate and shoulder elements and provide increased length and more road biting edges as the pattern wears for maximum wet and light snow traction.
    • Silica Formulated Tread Compound. Designed for exceptional all-season driving performance.

Have had these for 50,000 miles on an 07 GTI and for 24000 on a 2012 TDI and could not be happier. Great all around tire

Everything about these tires as far as the drive goes is outstanding; wet grip, dry grip, handling, comfort, ride, noise, etc. However, these tires have a high rolling resistance which dropped my gas mileage about 15% upon installation. A show stopper. I don't know if its my specific car, but there are other reviews on Consumer Reports and acurazine.com where people are complaining about the same problem with these tires. Too bad though as I'm gonna go through a couple more tankfuls of gas to see if anything changes. If not, I'm going to take advantage of Cooper's 45 day trial period and upgrade to the Michelin AS/3's.

My stock tires were the Michelin Pilot3 Summer tires; great in the summer and that is it and I knew that. I just got home from having these Coopers installed and finally--I can drive again in the winter. It's not a winter tire so don't expect it to handle like one. Of course you will spin your tires or trip the traction control if you give it too much gas on snow--common sense. Of course going to fast and taking corners in snow will lead to you sliding out--common sense. If you drive responsibly these tires will work great. As I write this it is 16 degrees outside and I have plenty of traction to move on snow, stop on snow and turn on snow. It's winter so I am driving like it is winter and these tires perform wonderfully. The noise and ride are much quieter and smoother than my stock summer tires--to be expected and I was not disappointed. This is my second set of Cooper tires in the Zeon line. First was on a Mazdaspeed3 about 4 years ago and they were great then, though slightly different from which tires I have now. Again, these are great tires as an all season performance tire. They aren't summer performance and they aren't winter tires either. If you don't expect extreme cases from them and get them knowing they are a best of both world's compromise then you won't be disappointed. I would buy these again (I did since this is my second pair of Zeon's) and I would and have recommended them as well.

These came stock on my Focus, and I've never loved them. I drive a lot (80k miles/year), and am having to replace these at 40k because of highway noise. The Focus doesn't have much in the way of sound insulation, but man these tires are loud. Seem to hydroplane more than I'm used to, and they are worthless in the snow. To be fair, I didn't keep up on the rotations religiously, and my previous vehicle was an AWD 07 Escape (awesome in snow). However, I'm not impressed and don't think I'll buy Coopers for a while.
