    Summer

'Star Spec' means impressive dry grip out of the gate. Driving enthusiasts won't have to wait for their tires to 'come in' at the beginning of an event, helping to provide an edge over the field. This is also great news for owners of smaller vehicles, who sometimes struggle to work their tires up to the point of peak grip.

Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec is a DOT-approved summer performance tire for hard-core driving enthusiasts and car-club members. The tire helps deliver superb dry traction and handling at regional car-club events like track days, driving schools, and autocross.A high-response directional tread pattern with circumferential grooves helps create a consistent contact patch on the pavement for a smooth feel and seamless transition. An optimal mold shape helps provide a consistent footprint shape and uniform pressure distribution across the footprint for enhanced cornering.

Advertising for the Dunlop Direzza DZ102 failed to inform the buy they would loose between 6.5 and 8 mile per gallon. Example using hwy driving; with Yokohamas I got 29 to 30 mpg, with Hankook I got 27 to 28. Just put this set of Dunlops on before a trip from Reno to Seatte all excellent hwy. Best milage 22.3. This set of tires is going to cost me a lot of gas.

Amazing grip in the dry. Wears really fast, but expected from such a soft compound tyre. Did notice some tramlining and road noise, but nothing too bad. All in all an exceptional high performance tyre that I would definitely recomend!

got these tires on my si(k20) when i had only had lowering springs and was using regular street radial tires with a 480 tread wear. Switching to the star specs right after the difference was night and day. grip instantly, doesnt need much heat to reach peak grip. With these tires when traction is lost, you arent guessing where you are going. You know where the nose of your car is going, the tires are very easy to regain traction after losing grip and you always maintain a solid line. Only thing that disappointed me about these tires is that my rears only lasted me 8k miles and my fronts still have 70% tread, keep in mind my car is fwd and i dont rotate my tires, its due to my suspension setup. Great tire for the $$ however i will be using hankook v12 on my rear and star specs on my front from now on due to my uneven tread wear in my rear.

Currently have these on my 95 Eclipse GSX and had a set on my 05 Evo MR (which I sold to get my 11 335i x-Drive). Bought winter tires for my 335, but for next summer I plan on getting the Z1 Star Specs with some new wheels (of course I need to get a spare since they are not offered as RFT). These tires obviously worked very well on my Evo and they made a HUGH difference on my GSX. I bought my GSX new in 1995 and at 195,000 I startesd to "upgrade" my GSX. Now at 380 whp, with about 215,000+ miles, this car handles better thaa it ever has. My son suggested these tires as he had them on his Evo, and although I've done some suspension work on my GSX, I noticed the biggest difference/improvement when the Star Specs were put on. As I said, I'll be getting these tires for my 335i x-Drive M Package BMW.
