Responsive Winter Performance Tire for demanding weather conditions

In challenging weather conditions, the Eurowinter HS439 presents improved winter driving predictability and traction consistency. A new silica compound ensures tread flexibility, maximizing tread life, and multi-angled sipes allow for better control in ice and snow. The HS439 is extremely versatile as its unique UHP-inspired asymmetric tread pattern maintains high-speed stability in dry conditions, while four high volume circumferential grooves expel water, slush and packed snow when driving in adverse conditions. For owners of performance coupes, sedans, and wagons, the Eurowinter HS439 is perfect for winter and demanding weather conditions, whether wet or dry.

    • New Silica compound offers superior tread life and performance across multiple temperature ranges
    • Multi-angled sipes improve grip in ice and snow
    • Asymmetric tread design provides excellent performance and stability in wet and dry conditions
    • Four high volume circumferential grooves evacuate water, slush and packed snow for outstanding winter traction
    • Maximum road surface contact

I was actually kind of ticked off when I got these tires, as my dealership did not put on what I had asked for. However...I quickly fell in love with these tires! I live in the foothills of Alberta and we get tonnes of snow and ice. I never once felt unsafe on the road in all conditions! The tires road so smoothly, I hated to change them back over to my all-seasons in the spring. Love these tires! I can't say enough good about them as I am a very nervous driver on ice/snow and these tires gave me confidence.

These are okay if the pavement is wet or dry. Also okay if hard packed snow. For deeper or slushy snow the traction is lost. I have had to step and chop up snow/ice to get out often driveway. On ice or ice mixture it is about as good as a decent set of all seasons. Have blizzaks on the other vehicle - these pale in comparison when it comes to slippery ice/snow traction.

Good all seasons tires, I used them now for 3 years all year long. Impressive in (not to hot) summer, very silent and good handling, behaves nearly the same as my previous Summer Dunlops Good in Winter on dry, wet and slush, avairage on snow, especially on corners, the traction is just avairage. But we don't do here much km on snow yearly. Good traction on ice. Did 12000km so far, they look new. A good winter tires more an All Seasons tires for those not having too much snow.

I only ever felt that these were just ok as winter tires. In terms of braking, not very impressive braking on ice and fair on hard packed snow. The tire compound didn't seem particularly better than an all season tire and in my winter use these seemed to perform more like an all season tire.
