Spirit of the All Season Performance Tire

Imagine an all season performance tire designed to offer true grip and increased traction that ultimately advances driver confidence whatever the weather condition. With the ZIEX ZE912, Falken has developed a tire with full-depth sipes encircling the tread, coupled with high-volume circumferential grooves and high angle variable cross grooves, that bring together the spirit of performance driving in all climates. When faced with wet conditions, the ZIEX ZE912 features increased hydroplane resistance and increased tread stability by evacuating water away, delivering improved grip composure, while its hybrid-asymmetric pattern produces better dry performance and genuine touring confidence during each and every season. The result is a tire that performs regardless of the condition of the road.

    • Hybrid-Asymmetric Pattern Design – Optimized inside and outside tread patterns to ensure all-season grip on demand
    • Infinite Sipe Sequence – Full-depth sipes throughout the entire tread platform creating biting edges that dramatically increase traction in all seasons
    • Rotation Wear Indicators (RWI) – Falken engineered visual cues that help the driver maximize tire life and overall tire value, prompting regular tire maintenance
    • Four High-Volume Circumferential Grooves – Designed to deliver increased hydroplane resistance and maximum stability in wet conditions
    • High Angle Variable Cross Grooves – In inclement weather conditions, these grooves effectively evacuate water away from the contact patch

These tires have fantastic traction. No matter what I do, I cannot get my car to spin the tires or skid in dry weather. The wet performance is a little less strong, but overall, these tires are great. I have not been able to test them in snow, so that bar is not indicative of their performance.

This is my second chime in on the ZE 912's because I now hate them even more. I found them so atrocious in the rain, that I threw them away half worn. Now having experienced my MX-5 on BFG G-Force Sport Comp2, I can really identify what was so bad about the ZE-912. They are AWFULL in the wet. Little grip, and once sliding, they don't recover easily. They are twitchy and erratic. Pushing the cornering limit on a dry road high speed sweeper is nerve wracking. In the wet, (given their inability to recover once sliding), it is suicidal. I avoid driving the car in the rain. When it comes to wet performance, it's all about the compound and the chemists that work at the tire company. Bridgestone, Michelin, Continental, Pirelli have all raced in the rain. I will NEVER buy a Nitto, Nexen, Falken, Nankang, Ohtsu, etc. Might as well buy parachutes at a 3rd world recycled fabric store. It's a safety issue.

just put these on yesterday. Smoother ride and quieter then falken z512 that I had around 13,000 miles on. Have not driven in the rain or snow. Have not pushed car through hard cornering yet. Seems softer, more roll(left to right) when turning. Need to get accustomed to new fill before pushing Crossfire through hard turns. Falken z512 handled great other then snow, but Crossfire is not a winter car. I had to replace the z512 due to inside chamber wear on tires(all 4). I am new with low profile tires and the Crossfire.Tire shop could not check alignment of car to verify if chambers were off. Did not have the right equipment. Upon reviewing other tires from Crossfire owners I have found out that they love to eat up a set of tires once a year.

Tires had been properly rotated, and 2 of my tires lasted one year (with only 15000 miles)...and it was on a minivan. These came new with my used car, so I assumed they were low quality. I couldn't believe they were considered by some to be nice. I will never buy this brand again.
