I put around 6,000 km on the Altimax Arctics this winter (Calgary, AB) and the tread still looks almost brand new. I can't say enough about these tires. No slips, traction on wet and snow is spectacular, and again tread wear is excellent. Only complaint is if you wait too long to get your summers put on, these tires are a little noisy on the highway during the warm spring months.

These tires are quieter than the Yokohama Avid TRZ's I have and they are winter tires. Very good tire, low noise and they handle well for winter tires. Highly recommend.

Mazda 3 - 205/55R16 - I've used many winter tires (Bridgestone WT02, Michelin Alpin, Blizzak WS50, Dunlop Winter Sport, Blizzak WS60) and these are the best. Low noise, excellent ride, better than my all seasons. Not being performance winters you do give up dry traction (noticeable on on-ramps) but they are the least feeling winters I have owned with the exception of the Dunlop Winter Sports, however the Dunlops did not inspire the same level of confidence when the weather turns nasty. They are very stable during on the highway and do not exhibit some of the “mushiness” that affects many winter tires. Deep and packed snow and ice traction is incredible, I have to slam on the brakes to engage the ABS. Backing up a sloped driveway after freezing rain I did not slip once. Wet traction is also very good with no sense of hydroplaning on the highway. From starting there is minimal wheel spin and cornering is also very good. How much do I like them ? I installed them on all 3 of our cars.

2007 Ford Mustang - 17 - I live in Nebraska and we have already had well over 2 feet of snow this year. If I did not have these tires, I would probably still be stuck in my house. I was forced into a drift because of an on coming vehicle that could not pass. I thought I was going to be stuck for sure. With my Arctic tires, I went through that drift with no hesitation. I am truly impressed with these tires and all my friends and family cannot believe I am getting around in all this snow in a Mustang! I could go on and on about these tires, but I think having a Mustang getting around in vast amounts of snow says it all!
