I recommend these tires. I don't know about snow but we may get some this winter in North Texas but they are quite compared to the Goodyear Viva II that I had for the last 60 K miles. They are on a 2003 Corolla so you hear the road anyway but they sure do hug the road. Have only had them for two weeks now but I drive 58 miles one way to work and have been through two rain storms. I purposely tried to slide just to test them and they hold great. We will see as the tread wears. I know the Goodyear Aquatread became less effective as they wore down.

I bought these tires for my VW golf on the recommendation of my repair shop & a reputable tire store. These are the worst tires I've ever had! They were noisy from the beginning, sounding like tires on our trucks. I've had them for 1 1/2 years & 15,000 miles & they are worn out. I have been very prompt on getting alignments, rotation & balances. I am due a state inspection in 2 months & am going to have to fork out more $$ for tires. I was expecting at least 35,000 - 40,000 miles out of these. Will never buy & never recommend.

Ride is quite strange. On some surfaces the ride is smooth as silk, on others it is like the tires are very out of balance. It is not dependent on how smooth the road surface is, but appears. as near as I can tell, to be somehow connected to size of the aggregate in the paving material. I can be driving down the interstate and everything is fine and cross into a different county where the NCDOT awarded the repaving contract to a different contractor and it feels like I threw a weight off one of the rear wheels. When driving along with the vibration, if I cross a bridge which has not been resurfaced, the vibration can cease until I get off the bridge. Guess I would say that the problem is a combination of the vehicle's suspension tuning and the tread design of the tire-whether a different vehicle or a different size tire would exhibit the same problem I don't know. I don't know if the redesign of this tire has eliminated the problem.
