  • I bought these tires in the summer of 2007 to replace the Cooper brand tires that were on the car when I bought it used that March. I went with the Goodyear Assurance ComforTred tires due to their 80,000 mi tredwear rating and their handling in snow and rain. After 30,000 miles, though, I am beginning to regret that decision. I have my tires balanced and rotated four times a year and aligned semi-annually. I am very prudent to ensure that they are filled to manufacturer's specifications and take care in ensuring their safety. In March of this year, I noticed a bulge on the sidewall of one of my tires, and promptly had it replaced. I thought nothing of it at the time, believing I had hit something which may have damaged the tire. Yesterday, though, I had another tire blow out on the highway. A chunk of rubber on the sidewall, roughly the size of a baseball, blew out. Thankfully the belt held and there was no severe loss of air pressure. Sears Automotive refused to acknowledge there was a defect with the tire, and I am still awaiting Goodyear's response. The remaining 2 tires are now at 3/32nds tread; which is surprising considering these tires are at less than half of their mileage rating. Their handling in the snow was poor at best, with hardly any traction. Rain handling is good, although I notice the car has difficulty keeping a straight line on bridges or when the wind is blowing over 10 MPH. It seems to "drift" from side to side, even after a wheel alignment has been performed. I am very disappointed and will be purchasing a different brand of tire in the near future to replace these potentially deadly tires.

  • These may be the worst tires in the world. Around 35,000 miles, I started to get a light grinding noise and bumpy ride from my front end of my car alot worst then it was when I first bought these tires. Took it to get align and balanced like did every 7,000 miles. But I still heard the grinding noise assuming it could not be the tires with only 35,000 miles on them. After around 5,000 more miles the noise was extremely loud. In between that time of the next 5,000 miles I replaced the outer tie-rod ends and brake pads and rotors all around, Still I had this strange grinding noise. I final replaced my transmission and rack and pinion steering. Still with this grinding noise and very bumpy ride. Come to find out its the damn tires causing all my grief. I figured it out now. America make cars are made cheap by American auto manufacturers to support there dealerships under them. You saw how the American auto manufactures fell in the Real estate Crisis, the auto manufactures went down then the dealerships went right with them. This is how they make their money by scamming us. The manufacture washes the dealerships back with huge loans to sale these junk cars. Then our dumb ass come and buy these cheap cars with cheap tires and get screwed all around. Goodyear don't give a damn; because they have a contract to put millions of tires on new manufactured cars and trucks. Stop buying from corporations and buy from small businesses and see what happens. I bet you they'll get there act together.

  • Do not buy these tires. As with other reviews I had problems with vibrations at high speeds which you feel through your steering wheel. Handling is terrible. After having balanced several times at my cost I decided too much aggravation. Scrapped them with less than 10K on them and bought Michelins which are superb. Never another Goodyear tire for me..

  • I find no fault with these tires. They perform as advertised. Things folks should think about before rating a tire poorly are: (1) wear and performance are highly dependent on driving habits, (2) wear is highly dependent on other suspension components, proper alignment, regular balancing and rotation. Oversights by the driver in any of these areas should not be blamed on tires! My experience with Goodyear and their warranty has been peerless.
