Have been driving all-wheel or 4 wheel SUV's in Western NY snow country for thirty years and the Triple Tred tire is the absolute best I've ever had. It's fantastic on hard packed snow, deep snow, rain or dry, I highly recommend them. Only have 8k miles on them so the jury is still out on tread wear.

I have a 2012 Mazda 3 iSport Sedan, just got these in summer of 2015 by a recommendation from another small sporty type car friend who swears by these tires, and it's not December here yet so I can't say how well they are with snow & Ice ( I bought these tires because of the high rated reviews on dry, snow, ice and wet roads) how ever I live in Cleveland Ohio and drove down to Myrtle Beach South Carolina in heavy rain maintaining highway speeds and more and felt very confident with the grip. I even traveled through a hurricane when we were down there and they gripped the road even with allot of water on the roadways. Now I am hoping these do well in the winter because here in Ohio we get the extremes and hope I made the right choice... so far I love these tires allot, they are a little noisy when traveling at high speeds but it's worth the noise to have great traction and feel safe knowing your tires are gripping the road in extreme weather conditions and not sliding all over the place! The tires that were on my car before these were some cheap high mileage tire that the used car lot had put on to sell the car, those tires didn't grip the road at all not even wet weather!...we will see how these triple treads do for snow and ice and report back with our findings here.

First pair of Goodyears. I generally always buy tires with a 130k treadwear guarantee; Michelin, Hankook, Cooper. We put 35k annually on both our cars and 50% of our driving is gravel. We wear out a lot of tires. We're lucky if we get 80K out of a 130k rated tire. Really like the TriplTreds. I find them particularly good in the snow/ice for an all season tire, and mine are not new. Because of the unidirectional tread, they are better at braking than accelerating, which is the way it should be (imho). For those of you who experience noise, check to make sure your tires haven't been inadvertently installed backwards by some rookie in the tire shop. This happens all too often when the standard tire rotation is done as a part of a service package. They are only designed to rotate in one direction. This mistake also messes up traction and braking. Another common problem these days is camber. Many newer vehicles are built without any camber adjustment to save cost. Potholes, etc can cause camber to go out of whack. This results in noise and rapid wear. Moog, and others, makes kits to fix this, if your tire shop can be persuaded to take the time to install them. Or you can DIY, usually. My only issue with these tires is that they throw gravel laterally more than a "regular" tread.
