First pair of Goodyears. I generally always buy tires with a 130k treadwear guarantee; Michelin, Hankook, Cooper. We put 35k annually on both our cars and 50% of our driving is gravel. We wear out a lot of tires. We're lucky if we get 80K out of a 130k rated tire. Really like the TriplTreds. I find them particularly good in the snow/ice for an all season tire, and mine are not new. Because of the unidirectional tread, they are better at braking than accelerating, which is the way it should be (imho). For those of you who experience noise, check to make sure your tires haven't been inadvertently installed backwards by some rookie in the tire shop. This happens all too often when the standard tire rotation is done as a part of a service package. They are only designed to rotate in one direction. This mistake also messes up traction and braking. Another common problem these days is camber. Many newer vehicles are built without any camber adjustment to save cost. Potholes, etc can cause camber to go out of whack. This results in noise and rapid wear. Moog, and others, makes kits to fix this, if your tire shop can be persuaded to take the time to install them. Or you can DIY, usually. My only issue with these tires is that they throw gravel laterally more than a "regular" tread.

I put these tires on my wife's Honda 4 years ago and paid allot for them, in the last 2 years her car got very loud - I had the wheels, tires and wheel bearings checked out and the noise is coming from the tires. This winter she nearly slid off the road and so I started my research (because these tires are warranted for 140,000 km's!) From my research I believe I have found the truth - that there is a thin layer of soft rubber on the top which gives winter traction - but after 2 years this layer wears off to leave a hard rubber surface underneath, this causes allot of noise and loss of traction. I have concluded that these tires are good as a true all season tire for only about 2 years and then become a summer only tire. I have also discovered that most of the tire manufactures are using this same design feature - so be careful when buying tires for our Canadian winters. I am now looking at snow tires for my wife's car as I can’t find a good legitimate set of all seasons...............
